Description:

1987 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

VIN number is:WDBEB93DOHF024924
For some reason eBay is not accepting this VIN number. This VIN is the number on the car, on our insurance forms, the Title and the registration card.

One of only 2,679 Mercedes W124 300TD wagons imported into the USA . This model car was only brought into the USA by Mercedes for one year (1987). Very hard to find one and even harder to get one in this condition. It has an inline 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine paired with a 4 speed automatic gearbox. Vehicle also has working cruise control. HEVAC works fine and was recently serviced with R-12.
+ Cruise Control+ Electric front seats+ Auto climate+ Auto sunroof and windows+ Original First Aid kit+ Pair of horizontal roof rack bars+ 3rd row foldaway rear facing passenger seats

Everything works on the car. The vacuum system was pressure tested for leaks and faulty hoses/connectors replaced. All the air hoses to the HEVAC pods have been replaced with new ones. Vehicle is stored in garage under car cover when not in use. A rarity on these vehicles is that all three of the rear seat headrests are still installed. The self leveling works perfectly. Car rides like it’s on air. Air intake pipe between air filter and engine was removed and cleaned of oil and grime buildup then replaced.
This is a very rare car to find in this condition. The only flaw with it is that the hood does not sit flush with the body of car. Hood opens and closes with no issues. My daughter, who drives the car, told me that the auto garage door opened when the hood of car was up and pushed it back. There is no damage to paint. Hood just sits a bit proud. Doesn’t affect cars performance but if we were keeping it I would get it seen to, more because I am a bit particular about my vehicles.
I would rate the condition of the interior as a 9/10. There are absolutely no marks, tears or scratches inside. Carpets have always had mats over them. Interior roof lining is very clean, and as mentioned in earlier description, the interior trims were removed and repainted. There is minor hairline cracks on veneer around gear shift. I would refurbish this if my daughter were to keep the car. It’s minor but it can be noticed. There are 4 sets of keys included in the sale.
The exterior is also a 9/10. I would give it a 10/10 if it were not for the aforementioned hood incident. Paint is perfect and there is no body rust visible anywhere. No rust in arches, under body, doors or engine bay. Wheels are new and tires have less than 1500 miles on them. Glass is perfect on front and sides but the rear window has some scuffing from an old wiper rubber that was not replaced in time and left some marks. All exterior lights/lenses are perfect with no scratches or cracks on them. Front and rear wipers work as does the windshield washer sprayer. Both windshield/headlight washer jet pumps were replaced. Headlight wipers also work. Fluid for windshield was completely drained and replaced with new windshield wash liquid. Instrument cluster bulbs were replaced with LEDs making display crystal clear at night and giving sharp appearance when illuminated. All electrics work. As mentioned in bullet points, 5 of the 6 HEVAC air control ‘pods’ were replaced. The 6th one works fine and did not need attention. If you know Mercedes you will be familiar with this system. If a pod fails the air direction or control of air flow from vents will be lost. Repair is a considerable expense as it involves removal of dashboard.
Engine starts and runs fine thanks to the new glow plugs, injectors and fuel lines. Car just came from auto shop where it had a complete going over and got a clean bill of health. The oil and filter were changed on 10/15/2020. The odometer works but the trip meter does not. The car will not be driven once it is listed on eBay. We are selling this car because my daughter no longer has a need for a station wagon and would like a smaller ‘more practical’ vehicle. As the wheels that are on it are not original I will be including in sale the 5 original wheels that originally came with the car. These will require refurbishment to bring them up to the cars standard. They appear to be just dirty and aged.
This car is a head turner and gets many positive comments. The sound of the diesel engine is strong and assured and it comes with a folder full of receipts for work carried out on it. Vehicle comes with the original brochure that came with the car, owners manual, Mercedes Benz stainless steel VIN card and full spare tool kit. Vehicle is also equipped with an electric heater block mod which will heat engine coolant up on cold days/nights which In turn allows for easy starting, less wear on engine as well as instant warm air once engine gets started.
Vehicles reserve is moderate but is also reflective of the cars rarity and condition. Please search internet to find value of these vehicles. The vehicle is being presented by me as best I can. I am not a car dealer or mechanic. I have maintained this, along with all my vehicles to the highest possible standard. I have a huge folder full of receipts. I would not hesitate to drive this car across America. However, it is being sold AS IS WHERE IS. Understand that the vehicle is 33 years old and will have its flaws and anything can go wrong with it at any time. I love driving this car when my daughter comes to visit and we will certainly miss it.
