VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Ever driven one of these Mercedes with the bulletproof, yet thrifty three-liter diesel engine?Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway, too.I’ve always considered these W123 chassis coupes as some of the last hand-built, truly high-quality Mercedes and have heard others say the same thing! Please look over my photos; I’m sure you’ll agree with me! What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only. It’s obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall condition is superior.Climb over, under and all around this car - I know you’ll come up smiling!!
Having personally owned more than twenty Mercedes over the years, I’ve developed a great appreciation for Benz style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience.THIS CAR RUNS OUT JUST AS IT WAS MEANT TO. I’VE NEVER DRIVEN ANY VINTAGE COUPE THAT I’VE LIKED BETTER!! I’m convinced you’ll be proud to own and drive it as well.

CONDITION:

In total, this is a clean, well-cared-for, smoke-free car. I take pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about it as possible. Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and also small things needing attention: Turn the key, let the glow plugs heat for about 10 seconds and the strong diesel 3.0 inline five-cylinder engine fires right up every time! The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and just as it should. The car idles, runs and drives like a Mercedes is meant to – strong oil pressure, good battery and charging system, no overheating, no brake pull to either side or alignment issues!I’ve put on almost 500 miles over the past two months including a trip to Mount Vernon cruising at 65 MPH up and back for several hours.

Please take a good look at the interior pics.Hop in and feel comfortable sitting on these firm front buckets for hours as the seat springs and leather upholstery are in excellent shape. There’s little to no wear on any seating surface. As you can see, the rear seat is just as nice.Included is a photo of the instrument cluster with the engine idling at 800 rpm.Note the excellent oil pressure as shown on the gauge. It’s quite unusual for the needle to remain above the “30” mark on any Mercedes while idling and typically only raises up to and maintains at “45” while actually driving. You couldn’t ask for it to be better! No issues with overheating either. The engine temp always stays between 150 to 175 degrees (centigrade). The speedometer works perfectly, but, as is the case on many of these vintage rigs, the odometer doesn’t and does not reflect actual miles. All four windows are electric and can be a little finicky. Same goes for the power sunroof.Truthfully, I’ve only opened it a few times and always help relieve strain on the cables and motor by helping pull it closed. It’s quite unusual to see (the very valuable) factory Becker stereo still in place.I discovered the speakers are there in the package shelf but will require new wire to connect them.

On the exterior I’d call the paint a “six out of ten”.While it’s still very presentable and mostly original, there are some touched-up areas (the LF fender and rear deck lid) that have a slightly darker tint to them.Small patches of surface rust here and there, too.If I were keeping this coupe permanently, I’d likely drive it a year or two and then repaint. The 15” factory alloys are all straight and true. They look great and all are wrapped with Yokohama “Avid” Touring radials with at least 60% remaining tread.

I’m always very happy to work with any shipper you choose, but you’re also welcome to do what many of my previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to Seattle (I’ll pick you up at Sea-Tac International just a few miles away) and then start a road trip home the same day! As a respected Ebay seller with many, many satisfied online buyers, I want you to bid with confidence knowing that this Benz runs and drives as it should AND that it is being properly represented to you! Please don’t be upset if I miss a minor flaw or some small issue comes up on the car as NO used vehicle is perfect.Having said that, I won’t hesitate to drive long distance again in this Mercedes!

Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to stop by, inspect the car at my Auburn, Washington warehouse and take it for a test drive. As always, it is being sold “as-is, where-is” with a clean, free & clear Washington State title.
