Description:

1979 Mazda RX-7 Limited

Up for sale is my 1979 Mazda RX-7 Limited. Only 3000 of these were ever produced. This one is in great running condition and can be driven home by the buyer. Please ask any and all questions. I have no problem taking additional photos or video. Shipping or local pickup will need to be arranged and paid for by the winning bidder. I will assist all I can until the car is on a trailer and headed your way. Thanks for looking and good luck!
Exterior:
The exterior is in good shape for this year, but expect to repaint the Beat Black paint. There are minimal dings and dents, as can be seen in the picture of the passenger side door. The hood has several small rust holes where the spot welds are. There is a small amount of surface rust under the driver side, as shown in the pictures. The wheels and tires are in great shape. All glass is in great shape. The rear hatch needs new struts to stay up. The passenger side RX-7 emblem and rubber stripping are removed, but included with the car. It was this way at purchase. The 'Limited' badges are in place.
Interior:
The interior is in very good condition. The driver seat has some sun rot and both seats show some fading. The sunroof bag is there. The steering wheel and shift knob also show signs of wear, but none of the leather is tearing away from the steering wheel. There is a crack in the dash about 7" in length. This happened recently during some extremely cold weather while the car was being transported on a trailer. The digital clock is in working condition, as are all gauges. The Clarion stereo works great; the cassette player has not been tested. The leather on the ceiling is in fantastic condition. The moon roof opens and closes and does not leak. Several of the interior trim pieces have been replaced with genuine Mazda parts.
Engine:
The engine runs very strong and starts up right away. I believe it may have been ported and/or built but I'm still trying to track that part of the car's history down. There is a definite lobe that could be a sign of a street port. The carburetor is aftermarket (unkown manufacturer). The intake manifold is made by Rotary Engineering and the car has a Racing Beat exhaust from the header to the muffler.
