1973 Jeep DJ5

HELLO AMERICA!! FOR SALE, is my Right Hand Drive 1973 Jeep DJ5, Postal Carrier. This vehicle, if you are in the "know", is a rare find. These Jeeps were only used my the USPS from the '50s, up until 1984 when the current LLV, or "Long Life Vehicle", which we see today, was introduced. I am a Mail Carrier in Arizona and purchased this vehicle with the hope of using it to deliver on a daily basis, unfortunately the transmission needs to be rebuilt, the average cost of which is $1200 dollars, it goes backward but not forward, also it is a BW or Borg Warner. The motor is an inline six, and runs great. Things I have done, addressed and/or replaced are...
New fuel pump,
New oil filter/oil change
Tranny filter/pan gasket
Tires
Gas Tank
Fuel Filters(2)
New Neutral Safety Switch($90)
The engine was running bad when I purchased, I found a dirty fuel system was the culprit. I have since replaced the fuel filter(s), fuel pump, lines and tank. The tank, however new, does not fit! It was meant for a CJ5 I believe and will fit with some modification. The old fuel tank is still here but will need restoration. All glass is good, new tires etc. I have cleaned, power washed and degreased the motor, the original mail tray comes with it. I have removed all the smog equipment, this was done so the fuel system could be cleaned properly, I still have all those parts if you wish to take them with you. It is registered for the next TWO years!, and will not need to be smogged in AZ if you have classic car insurance, another reason why I removed the smog equipment. The windows go up and down, overall a really cool ride. I just wont be able to use it for the reason I intended it at the moment. I need to sell, and this is your gain. I have spent many hours on it and quite a few new parts were installed. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have! You will need to have towed! I know several reputable companies that will do this nation-wide, YOU MUST PAY FOR ALL SHIPPING COSTS, I WILL SIMPLY POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! No Hawaii or Alaska though, sorry. Good luck and happy bidding!!!Once winning bidder is determined a deposit of 300.00 dollars is required within 24 hours, non negotiable.
