Description:

1989 Jaguar XJS

1989 Jaguar XJS Coupe, Absolutely rust free 48k mile car. Spent the majority of it's life in Florida, garaged at the original owners winter home. Body and paint are near perfect, may be one minor ding and a couple chips. Interior is very nice, leather is excellent, very minor wear noticed on drivers seat, trim around the auto seat belt re-tractors is warped (re-tractors disabled by previous owner), console trim has been replaced with a wood veneer which is darker than original, there is some cracking in the veneer on the dash, info center not working. XK8 wheels fitted, front wheels have been machined to clears rotor hubs, Front brakes are new (calipers, pads, rotors, hoses, etc) ABS/brake like comes on momentarily on sharp braking? My intention was to do a V8 5 speed swap, maybe even an LS 6 speed! I specifically selected this car because on the outstanding condition of the body and the low miles. I purchased the Jag from the second owner who was a tech at an independent Jag shop. He did the wheels and tires, also removed the cats and fabricated a custom exhaust. The air injection lines were removed (the air pump remains), the hood has been adjusted up at the windshield to help vent the engine compartment heat. The AC works, and the rare sunroof does not, no switch can be located, maybe new console trim did not have provisions, (did not notice this when I purchased the car. The car did run well but now seems to run full rich which is fowling the plugs and making it smoke cold do to over fueling. After 2 years it doesn't look like i am ever going to get tot this project, so my loss your gain. Car is currently registered and insured but rarely driven. It is stored at my lake house in Maine but can be brought back to Wakefield, MA. 01880 for shipping. I have many more pics and welcome inspection although with the car nearly 2 hours away during the week, have some patience with the arrangements.
