My DD--Daily Driver. Currently licensed and insured in CA. A REAL 1938 ACME Beverage Co (Sacramento, CA) delivery truck converted from two ton to half-ton and put on 1995 Toyota Tacoma Chassis. Runs great! The "ACME" on the roof was originally a heavy plated cast plaque. It's been recreated in sheet steel. This original ACME Beer truck cab sat behind a chicken ranch in Orange Cove, CA and was used for target practice! All those bullet holes add to great ambience! It needs HVAC work and roll-up glass. However, I drive it every day. Great braking, acceleration, cornering. Remember, it's a 1995 Toyota Tacoma at heart.High mileage is due to being pulled behind a motorhome in a former life. You may not care but this truck retains all the Tacoma emission devices and will pass a CA smog test. However, it is NOT subject to smog testing. Registered as a 1938.The flatbed is hand-built to fit Tacoma chassis and makes this an awesome work truck. It is heavy plywood over a steel frame.Incredible amounts of thought and work went into this conversion. For example, I chose Toyota as a donor because original International wheels will fit--same bolt pattern. I then bolted on four International Harvester 15" steel wheels.
