1980 Hummer H1 M998This is the best of both worlds, a rugged military hummer with all the refinements one could want on a street vehicle. Under the hood is a 6.2L military diesel with ~20k miles. Everything else in the drivetrain was converted to H1-spec including the transmission, transfer case, axles, linkage, driveshafts, differentials and many other small associated parts. Everything except the driveshafts, which were rebuilt, were converted with brand new parts. The transfer case and transmission were provided by Monster Transmission and have a 50k mile warranty.
If you have ever driven a 3-speed military Hummer, you are probably well aware that they are really meant for convoy speeds of about 30mph. You won't find that here, great expense and care was taken to make sure this Hummer is ready for the street, just like a factory-civilian model, but with better reliability and ease of maintenance.
Other features include a brand new top and doors that are the much-improved version ordered directly from the military contractor. The stitches are tight, nothing flaps, and the windows don't leak. The soft doors slip off in seconds. The seats were done by a local legend who does private jet interiors, complete with full-grain leather from a Mercedes-Benz supplier backed with a high tech nylon that cleans easy with detergent. The trim inserts are velcro removable and can be replaced with any design of your choice. Classic seersucker, patriotic seersucker, and Hawaiian print (as shown) are included.
The dash lights have been upgraded so that you can actually see the gauges at night. The speedometer does not illuminate. You can add a light if you prefer but I chose not to modify the harness. Audio is provided by a Bluetooth enabled speaker bar. Everything is wired up but there is no sound, I am working get a new one as it is under warranty. If it is not installed by the time the winning bidder picks up the truck, I will ship it to you and refund you $200 for the inconvenience.
The paint is meant to give the truck a rustic appearance. It is intentionally rough. It is very durable and can be touched up easily. I will include enough base coat to repaint an entire body panel. You will feel very comfortable off road without having to worry about an expensive paint job.
The truck has a military grade heating system. It does not have AC. Everything works.
Transmission is controlled by a stand-alone computer, I left all of the harness intact should you choose to add paddle or a otherwise manually controlled shifter.
I will include a number of spare parts/extras, including a spare alternator for no extra cost.
If you live in the lower 48, I may be able to arrange inexpensive shipping, message me for details.
Thank you for your time, if you are looking for a Hummer you can take off-road while still being realistic for street use this is it. To recap, ~20k miles on the motor, about 200 miles on almost everything else. All fluids changed. There are some squeaks in the suspension but not very noticeable. Military-grade power steering you can turn with a finger. Taxed, titled, tagged. This is 100% street ready. Priced to sell!!!!
