1949 GMC 150 5 Window Deluxe Cab
Beautiful 1949 GMC 150 series ¾ ton 5 window deluxe cab pickup truck. Runs and drives well. New dark green paint (original factory green color) with light green pin stripe and wheels. New pleated seat upholstery. All glass is very good, no cracks or fogging (one small 1/4" star, front right). Lights, turn signals, most gauges work except speedometer. The hood opens and closes nice. Deluxe stainless window trim. All of the original emblems are there and in nice shape. Doors open and close nice. Both doors are very solid at the bottom and still have the factory drain holes. Windows roll up and down smoothly. The body is nice and straight. New aftermarket steel running boards. The inner kick panel areas have some rust through but the floor is solid. Solid cab corners. Newer 6 volt battery with new heavy 2/0 cables. Five factory original wheels with matching original GMC hub caps. The tires are like new 10 ply bias trailer type (5). The frame is very solid and straight. Also includesmaintenanceand owners manuals.
ENGINE:Original 228, 6 cylinder engine, runs well. It has great oil pressure and runs cool. It can be a little finicky to start on occasion. NEW: points, plug wires, plugs, coil, fuel pump, fuel filter. The carburetor was just completely rebuilt. No smoke, no knocks. The muffler and tailpipeare new. It has a straight through muffler so it has a bit of a rap to it.
TRANSMISSION: Original floor shift 4-speed transmission. Shifts well, no issues, no whining in the transmission or rear end.
This truck drives down the road well for a 68 year old truck. It is a pleasure to drive and gets a lot of attention. It is not fast by any means but it is ready for cruising, car shows, and summer fun. See pictures and ask questions before bidding.
