1966 Ford Mustang GT

This 1966 Mustang GT was built at the Dearborn plant on August 4th, 966. The car is the recipient of a 10 year old complete rotisserie restoration where the car was taken down to a bare metal shell and built back up to the beauty it is today.

Decoding Mustang GTs can be a tricky thing, ut this car has all the right stuff. First we look to the rear of the car where you will find the factory GT exhaust brackets under the rear seats. Next if you move toward the back of the subframe, here are two brackets that are mounted inside the rear subframe. At the front of the car, here is the factory GT quick ratio HCC-AW gear box. Other notable items include rear tail lights that turn on when you flip the fog lamp switch. We all know the other items like dual exhaust, og lamps bigger sway bars and front disc brakes to name a few but this car also has the correct, arge bowl master cylinder as well.

In the interior you will find complete Pony appointments, enuine Rally Pac gauges, genuine dealer installed AC unit and the correct GT gauge assortment. The top was just replaced again last year and is in excellent condition.

The car has a very detailed undercarriage with correct overspray marks and a nice 2 stage paint job with color sanded and buffed finish. All of the stainless and restored original trim and the bumpers have new chrome as well. The tires are now radials with an elegant 1" stripe and handle much better than the original bias plys ever did.

Mechanically speaking, he car was rebuilt from front to rear. The drive train has just over 5,000 miles on it and all of the suspension components were new as of the restoration. The car is a breeze to drive with power steering and disc brakes. Remember, hat GT cars had manual disc brakes. Keeping the passengers cool is a dealer installed AC system with the correct York compressor, nd the convertible top is a power unit.

For the Mustang enthusiast looking the convertible to own, his GT is a blast to drive and shows very well.
