1957 Ford Skyliner Retacable Hardtop

Description:

1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner

The most desirable year of the retractable hardtops. These were only made for 3 years 1957, 58 and 59. This 1957 was found in a shed disassembled by the 2nd owner and they lost interest and/or ability. I bought it with the hopes of not only saving it from it's dungeon but maybe restoring it. I'm currently working on a 59 now and cant seem to find the time for it, let alone another one. If I were younger and had a 10 or so less projects I would jump in with both feet, but that isn't the case. So someone will be able to get the opportunity to own a very rare piece of history.
This one is yellow and white two tone exterior with black interior (A very classy color for the time) Power steering and of course power top. I powered up the solenoids for the top and all seem to be working. The Floors are ROCK SOLID! That was the first thing I checked when we got it here., which is very unusual for a midwestern car. The rear quarter panels will need some attention but those parts are available. The doors look good and open and close very well. The front fenders will need some work around the headlight buckets, but then again, all of them do to some extent. I have all of the parts in storage including the original engine and transmission. As you can see by the upholstery the car wasn't abused to neglected in a field somewhere.
If you were looking to get into a very restorable, retractable hardtop you will not find one any cheaper than this one. The reserve is set ridiculously low on this project. As I stated in my other sale, I'm not a Barrett Jackson auction pricer nor am I trying to get rich. I know what "project" car should cost and what nice "finished" cars should cost.
I will answer all intelligent and polite questions and hope that it goes to a good home and is rebuilt to it's former glory.
