1935 Ford Other

Selling for the family of a dear departed friend and fellow V8 club member Bob Churchill. First off if you have any questions call his son Don at (805) 235-5910. I will do my best to describe it here but words and pictures just cannot do this car justice. I have restored dozens of cars in my life and have been a judge at several Concours D' Elegance shows but this car is one of the nicest if not THE nicest that I have ever seen. The paint work is 100 point quality and without a flaw that I can find anywhere. Not a nick or scratch to be found. This was Bob's final project he was building it to drive but didn't quite get it done. The only thing left unfinished that I detect is the tailpipes from the mufflers to the rear of the car and I don't see the side-curtains but their irons are present. Because it was built to drive Bob did some era upgrades. It has a genuine working 1935 Columbia 2 speed overdrive and a 39 Ford synchromesh transmission. It has hydraulic brakes. The engine is a later Mercury flathead with a 4" stroke built by the late V8 engine Guru Warren "Hoke" Hokinson. It has finned aluminum Edelbrock heads and a 4 barrel Holley intake and carburetor. It has Fenton cast iron headers and dual exhaust. The shocks are bolt-on upgrades and it has a bolt on sway bar in the rear. All top quality no expense spared workmanship throughout this vehicle its as nice underneath as it is on top. The tires are FORD script on the whitewalls. Interior and rumble seat are tan leather. It has the original 1935 Ford-Philco accessory radio and locking Ford spare tire hubcap. Top is tan canvas with correct Stainless rear window frame in the rear fold down flap. Rumble is fully finished with side panels and carpet as is the cockpit. Absolutely beautiful woodgraining on the dash and the correct Banjo steering wheel. It sounds really healthy when it runs and it drives smoothly and beautifully. The engine has obviously been balanced at Hoke's insistence. I know for a fact that all 4 fenders were NOS even though the ones originally on it were not bad at all. Bob was a NOS fanatic. Its possible the grille and hood were too but I am not sure on those. Many other parts on the car are as well like the gauges and spare tire lock. Oh its been upgraded to 12 Volts too. I'm sure I am missing some other fine points but suffice it to say you could not buy this car and restore it to this level of quality today for under $100000 even if you did a lot of the work yourself as Bob did. The reserve is a little over half that. If you would ever like to have an absolute show beauty that you would not be afraid to drive anywhere on the planet then step up to this one. You will never be disappointed. Think I have over-rated this car? Come take a look and tell me otherwise. Thanx for looking and happy bidding
