Description:

1950 Dodge Other Pickups COE B2

This is a 1950 Dodge B2 COE truck. It has been in dry southern Idaho, at leastmost of it's life, so it has not seen the ravages of salt and moisture. There is only a small amountof cancerous rust in the whole body. There's no rust on the bottom side of the doors or door frames. I took close up pictures ofthe rustyspots. The main one is above the right fender. Of course there is some surface rustin small inconsequential areas, but not much. All the floor is rock solid as are all the inspection covers. Those covers are shown in the pictures on the ground with the grill bars. There are two of each of the grill bars so you should be able to cut and splice them together to make three good ones. I have the seat but the upholstery is shot. You might even have to repair some of the springs in the bottom half. There is a banged in area under the front head light and some soft dents on the roof. The roof is so tall you can barelynotice them and they should be easy to push out.The only good glass is the rear window and over the gauges. All heoriginal brokenglass there for patterns. It is all flat glass so it easy to have cut.

Mechanically it's 95% there. The only thing I've noticed missing is the distributer cap. I'm sure that if you going to restore it to original most everything will need rebuilt. I'll go out and check to see if the motor is stuck or not in the next day or two and add that info at the bottom of the description. Something I should mention, the tires are junk. They arejust there to roll the truck.

I have a 12 valve Cummins that I can sell you when you come to pickup the truck if you would like it. I bought it from a friend of mine who's son wrecked the truck it was in. It needs a turbo because the one on it was used on another of their Dodges. I've seen brand newturbos on Ebay for about $300. It has some other parts that got damaged in the wreck but I've gathered most all the needed parts up including a new lift pump. I'll probably kick myself later I'll let it go with the COE for $1,500. It could have any power train but I think it would be cool to keep it all Dodge.

The paint has3 to four colors showing through. All that would need to be doneis to carefully repair those rust areas and blend the area with some paint the same colors on the truck. You could then lightly sand or scotch bright, use a good adhesion promoter thenshoot the whole truck with a quality clear coat, with a little flattening agent in if desired. That would preserve a beautiful REAL patina. Twenty years ago I would have painted itred with black fenders but effect that real patina has on an old truck has changed my mind. Plus I don't want to pay the price or spend the time it takes to doconventional body and paint.

This truck can be hauled on a 16 car trailer with ease, it's really not that heavy or long.

If this truck is sold in Idaho I must collect the state sales tax and do the 502 application of title and it will be sent to you by the state. If sold out of state you will get a bill of sale and cleartitle.

I also wanted to mention that I own and old vintage high school that I use for my collectable auto business. It has a very nice one bedroomapartment built in it that is vacant. If anyonethat comes to pickup thetruck would like to stay here rather than getting a motel room, they would be welcome to use it for free.Ifneed bethe truckcan stay here for a month or two until pick up is arranged. Of course the truck would need to be paid for as agreed within 7 days of auction end.The engine could be paid for when the truck is picked up.I will be here to help load thetruck and engine if you want it. Please call two 0 eight-nine three four- 6001 or email with any questions, Thanks; Harvey

I went out this morning and 230 cid flathead six turns over smoothly by hand so it is definitely not stuck and could be a runner.
