1989 Dodge Ram 2500

Selling my 1989 Dodge Ram D250 diesel pick-up truck. I bought it in 2002 from my old employer. The truck is in pretty rough condition as I've used it for utility work hauling machinery, etc. Haven't driven much in the past four years so its been sitting. Has four nearly new tires and recent new battery.
Body and interior are rough. Exterior has numerous dents and dings and a couple pulled up areas on the truck bed from an attached hoist which will be removed before the truck is sold. Included is an extra tail light assembly and a couple extra 8-lug wheels if you want them.Paint is original and looks horrible. I blew a tire earlier this year which tore off the side trim near the left rear wheel well.
The interior is bare-bones without any options except after market gauges and some sort of braking module for pulling a trailer. Seat is worn as is the rubber flooring. I had a jug of oil behind the seat which leaked and has soaked much of the padding under the drivers floor area. The front grill is broken from a tree limb last year during Hurricane Matthew. Original radio is removed from the dash but included.
Engine starts right up and runs well. One of the power steering hoses is leaking fluid and will need to be replaced.
I'd not driven the truck lately and upon initial start up there was a problem starting out and shifting. It was pointed out by a Mopar expert that when these trucks sit awhile, fluid leaks out of the torque converter. When starting the truck after sitting a long period of dis-use it's best to put the selector in neutral for several seconds as things warm and circulate fluid back into the converter. The transmission shifts well and all seems right but is no doubt due for a fluid change and service. The fluid is not burned.
At some point the drive shaft will need new u-joints as there is an occasional "clink" when put in gear. Turbo charger works as it should. The truck has tremendous torque and can still beat practically anything in an uphill climb.
Cleaning out the interior and lifting the rubber mat on the drivers side there is a rusted out line along the inside rocker area adjacent to the sill. I believe this is due to a poorly fit door seal which has allowed rain water to collect and do its damage.Picture 10 shows the view under the floor mat. numbers 11 and 12 are of that area from under the cab.
The area below the battery is rusted away due to battery acid corrosion over the years.Road salt isn't often used in this part of NC so that's not the source of the rust. The underside and chassis of the truck look really good except below the battery area as shown in the 16th pic.
Figure this truck will need lots of work to make it a daily driver so selling AS-IS. I'm located east of the Raleigh area about 8 miles from I-95 and exit 107 in Kenly. I want to sell my truck so if you feel the price is too high make an offer. If you need more details email or call me.
