Description:

1976 Chevrolet Chevette base

Up for sale is a charming survivor of America's oil crisis days; my 1976 Chevette. The car was parked in a garage in the mid 90s and sat there until I acquired it about 6 months ago. I brought it to my restoration and repair shop and gave it the TLC that it deserves. The motor was brought back carefully. After oiling the cylinders down, changing the timing belt and engine oil, cleaning the fuel system, changing most rubber components and rebuilding the carburetor; it fired right up! The motor doesn't smoke or tick. Runs nice and cool.
The car proudly wears it's original paint and upholstery. It has minor chips and scratches, but its rare to come across a 42 year old car that looks this good without having been restored. The car runs and drives very well. Tires are new and have less than 10 miles. Steering is tight and responsive. Brakes- although manual, stop straight and smooth. Equipped with a 3 speed automatic and a 1.6L engine, the car is easy to maintain and it is a blast to drive!
Unfortunately I do not have a title for the car, however it has dropped off the DMV system many years ago, so a title is easy to acquire. With that said, the car needs minor TLC, such as the heater control knob being broken and a small tear in the driver's seat. Other than that, all the lights work, doors open and shut properly. Windows roll up smooth. Best of all, the car has ABSOLUTELY no rust. It has been in central California it's whole life. The underside (as seen in pictures) is a little muddy from a dirt driveway, but you can clearly see there is no rust in the floors. Amazing, salt-free metal.
