Description:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro base model trim level

This is a 1969 Camaro base model with NO power options - all manual steering and brakes. Originally this was a Gold exterior, White interior six cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission floor shift with a 10 bolt rear end. Now this car has been restored with a 350 SBC HD V-8 engine with a stroker crankshaft making it a 383 CID engine. The pistons are Probe FRS forged aluminum units, the crankshaft is an Ohio Crankshaft 4340 forged unit and the connecting rods are Eagle H-Beam 4340 5.7 forged rods. The transmission is a new Borg Warner Super T-10 4-speed, Hurst shifter with a Lakewood Scattershield. The driveshaft is a Denny's HP unit and the rear is a HD Moser 12 bolt rear end with a TruTrac positraction limited slip carrier running 3.55 gears. The suspension is tubular Heidt narrowed A-Arms and Hotchkis race lowering springs all around. Wilwood Dynalite 4 wheel disc brakes 12.19 inch rotors all corners. Griffin HD radiator, Classic Covan Autometer Phantom gauges and all new American Autowire wiring harness are installed bumper to bumper. The car has about 1000 miles on the engine. This car has been lowered and has a race cam and exhaust installed. It is mean and loud. The interior needs about 40 hours worth of cosmetic work to finish it up. Serious inquiries only. The car is available for inspection locally in San Jose, CA. I reserve the right to terminate any bids from bidders with less than perfect feedback. This car is very special and I will only sell it to the "right buyer" who can appreciate and respect the car and care for it properly. This diamond runs just great with tons of power. The actual mileage of this car is approximately 100,000 miles. I have owned the car since 2001 and it has been driven sparingly during that time period maybe up to 1000 miles. Before 2001 the car was stored in pieces in a San Jose garage for many years prior to restoration. In total the car was garaged for up to 30 years in storage. The sheet metal and body are all original with the possible exception of the drivers door, drivers rear quarter panel and the cowl induction hood. The inner passenger door has been cut for door speakers sometime in the past 50 years. Other than the body, the sheet metal, the side window glass and seat frames everything has been replaced. The floors are in great, original shape being rust free. The car is an original survivor built in the Van Nuys GM plant in LA and driven and stored in Northern California.
