Factory Air Conditioning that blows Cold and Tilt Steering. The Engine, Transmission and the Rear end are original to this El Camino. It was born with them. All are correct and date coded. I have decoded the entire car. It was built in Fremont, California in the last week of May of 1969. Sold new is San Jose, California. California Car all of its life, until June of 2015, when it found me. Rust Free and Accident Free California Car. Never Hit and never Rusty El Camino. It is still has California Plates and Title in the 2nd owner's name. Original Factory Orange (72B) with Black Bench seat interior (755).
Just finished a 12 Year restoration. It has been driven about 50 Miles since all the following work was done. The El Camino was painted about 12 years ago; never put back together until now.
THINGS DONE TO THE EL CAMINO:Original Numbers Matching 396 CU - 325 HP engine rebuilt to stock specifications. Runs great. Numbers matching - Muncie M 20 4 Speed rebuilt. It shifts great. (Does have a Hurst Shifter - Which is the only Modification to the power train). New Ram Flywheel, Clutch disc, Throw out Bearing and Pressure Plate installed. The Original Numbers matching 12 bolt Rear End with 3:31 Positraction was rebuilt. Original Rebuilt and Restored QuadraJet Carb.. Numbers matching 61 AMP - Air Conditioning alternator (#1100843) was rebuilt and refinished. Numbers matching Correct distributor (#111497) for the 396-325HP was rebuilt and refinished - Has Pertronix conversion. Original numbers matching exhaust manifolds. I can supply all of the Numbers and Date codes for engine, transmission, rear end and accessories, if some one wants them. I have a Build Book showing the decoding of every thing. The Build Book, which is 3 inches thick, will go with the El Camino. I installed Summit - Mechanical - Oil and Water temp gauges, to keep an eye on the New engine. The factory gauges are disconnected at this time, they work and can be hooked back up. I just trust a mechanical gauge more, especially when breaking in a New engine. The entire Front End was gone through. NEW: Tie Rod ends, Idler arm, Upper and Lower Ball Joints, Control Arm bushings, Sway Bar bushings and was just aligned. NEW: Front disc brake rotors, new Calipers and Pads. NEW Rear drums and shoes. NEW: Reproduction Stock exhaust system.WHEELS AND TIRES: Original, Restored "YA" Super Sport Wheels, 14" x 7", date correct (Made in March, of 1969). Four - Brand New Goodyear Raised White Letter Polyglas G70x14 tires. New Reproduction Lug nuts, Center caps and Trim Rings. Spare wheel is also a correct and date coded "YA" wheel, with a used Firestone RWL tire. The following items were also replaced with reproduction parts from OPG (Original Parts Group) and other vendors:Front and rear bumpers, Grill assembly and head light assemblies; all Stainless exterior trim, all trim around bed, Tail lights, marker lights, emblems, etc. Interior: Original bench seat redone with reproduction padding and upholstery. New Carpeting, insulation (Tar paper sound deadner) and padding. I have probably forgotten some of the things I did. If you have any questions please contact me, and I will try to answer them.
