Description:

1941 Buick Series 50

This outstanding automobile is finished in Royal maroon metallic with contrasting red leather interior . It is (in my opinion) the best color combination Buick offered in 1941!

Previously owned by a very fussy collector, it was meticulously restored in 1997 and then went on win its first junior award, then all the way up to AACA Grand national champion.

Although Mr. Johnson had many cars, this one was special !

His first encounter with a 1941 Buick Super was at a country club where he and his family were members.... The story as told to me, starts like this: At the behest of his father, Chris took a summer job at the club, one of his duties was parking cars. A perfect assignment for Chris, he loved Cars !

One day a beautiful 1941 Buick Super convertible in Royal maroon metallic quietly rolls in.

The car was magnificent and the woman driving it was stunning! Throughout the summer he became friendly with both the lady and the car creating memories that would last his lifetime.

The summer ended, he went back to school, the Buick and the ladywent on with life, both never to be seen again.

Mr. Johnson went on very successful in both his business and personal life.

He married a beautiful lady who not only gave him children, but devoted herself to him until his death ...

His search for the Buick ended in 1994 with the purchase of another low mile Super convertible.

The restoration then began. Ralph Baldwin was chosen to head up the paint and body. Jenkins restoration was responsible for the interio, top and all aspects of the soft trim, Master Plating performed their magic on all the chrome. Other quality shops were employed as well.

The quality of this very expensive restoration (approx. 75k)in 1997 money is remarkable and all receipts are present. This car is still as lovely as the women in Chris's memory and is capable of winning all of these awards again.

Now offered for auction . It would take double the 75k originally spent to replicate today and I stillthink you would have "half" of what this automobile is.

Thanks for reading my ad. I hope you enjoyed the story...

Contact Frank with your questions or concerns at: 860.354.4461 (office) or 203.788.1745 (cell) and of course via e-bay..

I always suggest an independent appraiser prior to any expensive purchase .

Although I believe that all aspects of this Buick are close to number 1 condition especially when you consider the age of the restoration (at least 1-) you should verify before you buy !

I just realized photography is not my forte! Does not do this car justice.

I'll let a pro re-dothem (or try again)

If you truly intereste, this car is a "must see and touch" kind of car.

Best Regards to all.

Frank.
