BMW 2002, 1975

Incredibly well preserved usable classic

Genuinely excellent body, no dents, no rust, no scratches, no bubbles, no cracks. From even a few feet away, looks like new. Can't authenticate originality but there is the chance this car was repainted once....after all, it IS 43 years old.

Older but still very good chrome (no pitting or peeling) and rubber trim, excellent floor (no undercoating, no damage, no sign of repair), just incredible. Last owner was an older gent in the South, car was always garaged and babied. And was driven less than 3,000 miles per year.

Runs like new....no smoke, excellent performance from its SOHC 4 cylinder 2 liter engine, Weber carb (just adjusted and working perfectly), valves are quiet, no oil leaks, clutch is fine, transmission works perfectly, front end is tight, brakes work well, on and on.

Best of all, has a perfect working sunroof, just upgraded and serviced factory air conditioning (converted to modern R134a refrigerant), just had a new heater blower installed, has new Michelins, exhaust is quiet, every light, gauge, and accessory works, and I really can't imagine the car needs anything. It starts instantly, runs and drives like new, and doesn't miss a beat.

The photos tell the story with the interior....very close to 'as new' with excellent headliner, carpets, interior panels, seats, etc and all seem to be original. And just had a new JVC stereo installed with bluetooth, quality speakers, sounds great.

In the trunk, spare wheel and tire, original jack and lug wrench, have the owner's manual, what else is there? Even the rubber seals around the front and back windshields are great and not cracked.

BEST OF ALL........a true appreciating classic, easy to service and maintain, and will duplicate the use of a modern (depreciating) car. Will cruise nicely at any practical speed, great ride and handling, power assist disc brakes, and the photos don't really do justice to the beautiful color combination. I even installed new factory badges front and rear and on the wheels. In my eye (and hopefully yours) it is a real gem.

That's it. Car is for sale, the first buyer who comes my way will own a beautiful all season classic. And, of course, I have advertised this car in various publications and certainly reserve the right to sell it and end this auction. I can store the car for the winning bidder if necessary and can assist in shipping it anywhere in the world. If you have any questions, please call at 203-377-6746 weekdays during business hours EST.
