1989 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Campervan - Subaru Engine Conversion
1989 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon
Selling our 1989 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia with a Subaru engine conversion and VW automatic transmission. Super cute paint job that cannot be missed, painted back in 2015 and still shines up beautifully. All recent work has been performed at Peace Vans about 5000 miles ago ($14k in maintenance and upgrades), I attached pictures of these records. The Subaru engine has roughly 50k miles on it but we just had the water pump, timing belt and other timing components replaced in February 2023 so all of that is ready to rock. Cooling system has been completely replaced, including the radiator and coolant pipes. All suspension bushings were replaced including shocks and a new power steering rack. Upgraded wheels and tires are in great shape, tons of tread left and are studdable. CV joints were replaced with new German ones, brakes are good, fuel lines are fresh. This van is fun to drive and is fast for a vintage campervan. All of the camper accessories work such as the sink and propane grills. The original fridge is still installed but I think it only works if you are plugged into shore power, we just use it as storage. This van can sleep 4 people, 2 up top with the top popped and two on the bottom bed. It has a big Fiamma awning that can be setup easily by one person! This van currently needs nothing mechanically and is ready for some big road trips. I also have a full mechanical inspection report from Peace Vans that I can email to you if interested.

We have two Vanagon Westfalias and want to trim down to just one since they can be needy at times. Thanks!
