Vehicle DetailsI am the third owner of this stunning 49,000 mile 1978 VW super beetle, champagne, edition convertible. First a little history… 1978 was one of the final years the VW Beetle was manufactured in Germany, this car is a German model. In the 1978 model year out of over 200,000 Beetles built worldwide and mostly hardtops approximately only 1,100 of this trim level convertible were made. This VW spent its entire life on the West Coast. It was purchased new in Oregon as a graduation present and immediately came down to San Diego and stayed with its original owner until six years ago. The second owner purchased it for his wife to enjoy. They had it for five years and I bought this car one year ago. I was impressed with its condition, but I wanted to make it even better. I completely refreshed the car with new paint, tires, brakes and tuneup. The interior and top look great. I added a new Bluetooth stereo and speakers to enjoy while cruising on San Diego’s Hwy 101. She still has the factory installed Electronic fuel injection and has passed her California smog check. It has a clean California Title as well.
