1970 VW Volkswagen camper fully restored excellent condition no rust

1970 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

1970 Volkswagen custom camper with full width bed, ice box, jump seat, roof rack, childs, cot, custom curtain, wood lsat westfalia roof rack. Original CA blue plates are original to the bus and are included.all new high density foam seating and bed cushions, sunbrella fabric, new seat covers and door panels, all new mechanical, fully rebuilt 1600 dual port engine, all new brake, wiring harness etc. New paint, with no rust at all, solid CA bus ready to roll.This bus was restored properly and no corners were cut, it runs and drives like it should, looks great, and will retain its value for years to come. It was built to be driven and enjoyed like all busses should be.
Fully restored and perfect running camper just completed a 3 year restoration on this vehicle, I have driven it about 400 miles since completion to work out any issues, tune, re-adjsuted valve, changed oil etc. It is ready to travel, camp, daily drive, etc.
I restore VW busses full tim, and have for the past 15+ years, I personally did all of the work on this vehicle with the exception of the paint and body work, and can answer any questions you have about the vehicle. It runs great, is extremely solid and cruise at 65mph all day.
The following work was performed on the bus using only the best parts :
Body:all original german body meta, with the exception of the battery tray which was replaced with high quality replacement welded in prior to paint and some rust repair under lower window frame.Bus is repainted its original color using 2 stage base clear paint and buffed and sanded to a real nice shine. presents very well.rims and tires painted cloud whit, new front bumper step pads,
new front windshield glas, all new window rubbe, original westfalia crank out side windows with new screens, all cab door rubber, 1/4 window rubber, scrapers, and felt, and aluminium trim replaced on front cab doors. New german rear hatch seal, new german slding door seal, new sliding door support bushing and bearing, opens and closes easily and firmly as it should. New outer front door seals, engine compartment seal
Camping Interior:this camping interior is all new and beautiful! new wood headliner patterned after westfalia tin to, new birc, sanded, and clear coatedNew full width bed, with all new foam 5 inch cushions and durable sunbrella fabric hand stitched and ready to sit/sleep.
original westfalia ice box housed inside new cabinet, new folding table and counter tops patterned as original, jump seat with storage.4 seat belts in the rear, 3 on the folding bed and one for the jump seat so you can carry all the kids to the beach. front seat belts have been upgraded with new 3 point retractable system form Europe.
Front seats have been reupholstered with new Wolfsburg west horsehair pads as original, with tmi vinyl seat covers and frotn door panels to match. The seat surround and seat stand rubbers, as well as walk through section rubber mat are all new as well.
Rear floor is styled after original linoleum flooring and features threaded captive for folding table leg.
full set of curtains in place for rear section of bus on all windows, custom made. Also, snap in front curtain for cab area and front windshield for full privacy while camping.
"childs cot" pops into place above front seats using original westfalia rods and mounts, hand stitched with matching sunbrella fabric to sleep small child above cab seats, or store clothing, bedding, etc. while camping.
spare tire is covered in matching vinyl at rear in factory position
Mechanicals:
Engine is a fully rebuilt 1600 dual port motor, with just under 400 miles on it. assembled and broken in properly running 10w40 castrol oil.polished german crankshaft, new camshaft and lifter, new piston and cylinder set, rebuilt dual port heads, reconditioned connecting rods, new bearings for camshaft, rods, and crankshaft, new pushrod tubes, all gaskets, etc.
features 71+ style dog house cooling shroud, 34 pict -3 carb, new fuel pump. pertronix electronic ignition, new bosch coil, 55 amp alternator. functional heat riser, original oil bath air cleaner, new danish heater boxes, heat is functional and workin, new fresh air tubes, etc.
Brakes: all new varga wheel cylinders (6), new master cylinder, all new brake hoses, brake shoes, turned brake drums, adjusted and functioning as new. working gn parking brake with new rubber handle.
Buddys bits stainless steel accelerator pedal kit installed, new acc. cable, new clutch cable, ebrak e cables, etc. new pedal pads for clutch and brake . New clutch throw out bearing, clutch disc, palte, etc.
4 speed transmission shift firmly through all gears, no popping out of gears, no whining, no leaks.features new nose cone bushings, bearing thrust plate between main housing and nose cone, new side seals, german cv joints cleaned and lubed, 4 new cv boots
rebuilt steering box, new center pin, tie rods, and steering drag link and stabilizer, no steering slop, completely replace all 4 ball joints as well, so it is firm and most importantly, safe!
inner and outer rear axles bearing have been replaced, rear axle seals, and rear torsion bushings replaced and spring plates reset to factory settings, so no rear sag on this bus like most bay windows!


Electrical:
complete new wring harness installed, all wires in this bus have been replacednew 12 volt battery, new alternator (replacing unreliable generator and regulator set up)new starte, pos battery cable, ground strap.new headlight switch, working fuel gauge with new sending unit installed in original cleaned out fuel tank2 inch tachometer installed in clock blank allows you to keep an eye on engine rpm.speedometer works as it should.as does fuel gauge, wipers, horn, lights, signals, etc.dash switch to control rear westfalia overhead light in camping area, and factory dome light above driver seat. all new bulbs.

Bus is currently registered and insured and driven in CA, Clear title in my name, registration fees pai, original CA blue plates. Title does have a "salvage history" from a theft recovery in the late 1970's but bus has never been in an accident and does not effect registration in any way.
