1972 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

1972 VW Super Beetle. This is the more desireable "Super Beetle" model with the strut suspension, 2" longer cabin, and horizontally mounted spare tire. It also has the larger 1600cc motor used in the Porsche 912. This has a 4 speed manual transmission, 4 cylinder. Mechanicals in good condition. Engine has been cleaned (See photo). Driven locally around town although I have taken it on longer trips including a 1 hour drive into the mountains on back roads. I don't drive it on the interstate because of its age. The tire tread is low on two wheels.
I'm selling because I don't drive it enough and have too many projects going on. It starts right up and chugs along of driven daily. It sputters in 4th gear which is probably due to not being driven at speeds higher than town traffic.
The side running boards need to be replaced. The back vinyl trim needs to be replaced next to the rear seat. The floor boards under the seat in the battery box should be replaced from rust. The carriage frame is in good condition. It doesn't have seat belts - they were an option in 1972! The car has been repainted a teal color over the original bright blue factory color (See bright blue dash color photos). The odometer shows 91k miles (I believe this is the actual mileage as declared on the title).
