Description 1971 VW Kombi Bus Resto Rod 95% Complete  $15,000 is the starting bid. If I feel good with an offer over $15K, I might put a Buy It Now on for a now sale. I have over $35,000 in this unit so it is a steal for someone to finish up. No trades. What you are looking at is a one of a kind 1971 VW Bus Kombi (removable fiberglass sunroof) completely restored as sort of a restomod. $8,000 worth of new body and paint, $6,000 new interior, custom 17" wheels with new tires. I tossed out the old engine and transmission, fuel tank, axles, bearings, shocks, battery, brake booster and master cylinder, tie rods, steering damper, etc. and replaced them with all new except the tranny which is rebuilt. I bolted in a brand new, not rebuilt, Powerhaus (Torrance, CA) 2110 cc custom engine at a cost of $9205 (have receipt). The engine was broken in at Powerhaus. I attached the electrical to the engine so it turns over but no fuel lines are connected to the tank. At that same time, I attached a rebuilt transmission geared for the 17" tires. Before all that, I put in a new fuel tank. I installed an external oil cooler with thermostat with all lines connected except for the wires. It has a Honda 110 generator, but you have to bolt it back in and reconnect with existing wires. It does have a 110 A/C unit that runs off of the generator which runs off the bus's fuel tank. Also has a back up camera you have to hook up, part of the rear bumper - wires are there, just reinstall them. So, bottom line, you have to install the rotary electric fuel pump (included), wire it in, attach fuel lines, connect electrical lines to oil cooler and the above items.Â
Does have a tow connector underneath front bumper. Have free and clear North Carolina title in hand. Your inspection is welcome. Surf board and rear roof rack goes with it.
