Description:

1968 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Survivor 1968 VW Beetle/Bug. Completely stock and original numbers-matching car. Original interior is in remarkable condition with a minor tear on side of drivers seat. Headliner replaced at some point. This car was one of the first 1968 beetles produced - built in the first month of production! Those of you who know your VWs will understand the significance. The story goes that the car was purchased in 1968 by an American serviceman stationed in Germany, and imported back to the US in Wichita Falls TX, where it remained until 2016.

Everything works, all lights, knobs, switches, radio, you name it. No rust. Straight body. Many of the factory stickers are intact, indicatorsof the great care that's gone into preserving the car. Even the stickers on the engine fan shroud indicating valve clearances are still there. Looks to have had one re-paint. Paint is in great condition with no fading but with some imperfections here and there. Gas drips/overfill has caused some paint deterioration below the filler as seen in one of the photos. Runs well, drives well, stops well. Just did a tune-up (including valve adj.). Mileage is at 30,3xx and given the condition of the car I believe it to be original. Really special car.
