1984 Volkswagen Rabbit

Up for sale is my 1984 vw rabbit L diesel. I have owned and driven this car for 11 years. It came from Tennessee so the rust isn't too bad but it does have a few holes underneath and surface rust. My wife and I took this on a road trip and got 54 MPG on the highway. I think I get about 40 now (short trips).
I'm hoping to find a good home for the car. someone who is interested in restoration. (I hate to see it get parted out) The engine and trans are in great shape for the age. It has a 4 speed manual trans.
The car has electrical issues! The lights are always on when the key is on, The windshield wipers will not auto park and the heater fan only works on high when it feels like it. Also the weather stripping needs replacement because it gets wet inside when it rains (mostly in the back where the spare tire is.) Also it needs the shifter linkage rebuilt because it gets hard to shift sometimes.
