Description:
1984 Volkswagen Rabbit
I bought this because I drove them in the 80's and they are awesome. This has been a load of fun to have but I am selling it to keep an agreement with my wife that if I purchase a car I have to sell one. I just got an extremely clean 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL so this has to go because I'm not selling my 1982 Westfalia Diesel or my 1985 MB 300D Turbo or my 1950 Chevy 1 Ton pickup. I have done a ridiculous amount of work to this car. It has NEW: front struts, front springs, strut bearings, front wheel bearings, control arms with bushings and hardware, brake calipers, rotors, brake pads, and brake hoses, a/c compressor, R12 refigerant (brrr), master cylinder, rear wheel bearings, headliner, windshield, coolant hoses and pipes, H4 headlights, header pipe and front muffler, fuel tank cap, tail lights, oil pressure sender, door strike posts, tires, hatch seal, entire axle assembly on drivers side, cv joints and boots on passenger side, drive flange oil seals, transmission oil, drivers side mirror, shifter bushings, linkages, and boot, expansion tank cap, heater valve, tie rod boots, steering rack boots, Ate Super Blue Racing brake fluid, blue Pentosin coolant, air filter, belts, breather hose, air intake hose, glow plugs and fuse, all within the last 15,000 miles. I serviced the rear brakes because the parking brake was sticking. All the moving parts were cleaned and lubricated and the parking brake adjusted. Oil and oil filter were changed at 123,110 miles. I have mechanically restored this car.I would drive this car cross country without hesitation. I have included pictures of all the rusty areas. The car has excellent curb appeal and is quite solid but does need some minor rust repair. Some ape was rough on the passenger rocker with a floor jack years ago and it shows. The main structural areas of concern on these cars are solid on this one with the exception of that rocker, which isn't weak but should be repaired to keep the car solid. There are numerous new parts that come with the car. Radiator, all 4 window regulators, alternator, radiator fan switches (which I will replace before the car is sold), door glass gaskets, and more that I will add once I make a list. Let me know if you need more pix of anything and I will post them. The dash isn't cracked but it is stained by the sun. It would clean up nice with Palomino colored vinyl spray from the body shop.Vehicle Details:
