WelcomeeBaybuyers, up for auction today we are offering this original Condition 1984 Vw Rabbit Gti that acquiredback in Juneof this year from a gentlemen who found the car in Madison NJ in the second owners home in which she parked back in 1998 until earlier this year, She purchased the car almost new in 1987 and drove it until parked and kept away. Please take some time to read my ad and scroll down below and see the many detailed pictures i have added If you have any questions feel free to call me at the number listed above or send me an email. The exterior of this car is in original condition including its paint that i just recently had detailed and it surprisingly still shines well, This car is not a show piece by any means the paint has its wear and blemishes (pictured). The body is very solid compared to what i have seen out there that are all rotted and are still being bought to restore. This car has very clean rocker panels, strut towers, floors and mostly every part that are notorious to rust out the only major rust i am able to find is where the spare tire goes (pictured). The hood of the car looks to have hail damage and some parts of the roof. This car is the perfect candidate for someone that is looking for a solid Mk1 To restore. The interior is in very good shape for its age, the driver seats shows the most wear & tear all other's are in very good condition. The dash board, carpet and door panels are in great condition for a 33 year old car. The headliner is sagging on the car but its not ripped i did not staple it up or anything because it can easily be put back using its original material. There are some cracks on some of the interior pillars and the shift boot is worn i have done my best to take pictures of everything. 1.8L 4cyl when i purchased the car it did not run it was sitting in a garage since 1998 i took the car to a european repair shop and also a close friend of mines that has been working on Vw's for the last 25 years and has a repair shop in Kenilworth NJ. I told him i wanted the car to run / drive & stop and that is just what he did for me he replaced all of the fuel filters, spark plugs / wires / rotor and cap / brakes and rotors / drained all of the old fuel and cleaned the injection system and got the little rabbit firing right up then we installed a set of used but like new tires and i drove the car back to my place doing 70mph on the garden state parkway. The car fires up and runs very good a little rough when cold but then normal's out and runs like a champ. 5-SPEED MANUAL shifts smoothly and the clutch grabs great. The car has factory a/c but the compressor is out and in the trunk i do not know the story on that and why it was removed although it looks like its in pretty good condition. The heat on the car works great. The odometer reads 100k miles it is stuck on the current miles but the speedo and rpm are in good working condition. The fuel gauge is inoperable. Please take sometime and take a close look at all of the pictures i have added Please do not assume you are buying a show room new car because it was garaged for the past 20 years AND although the car is all original and like i mentioned above i feel like the car is above average for a old car that once upon was used as a daily. I had the car maintained so it can run / stop and move and it does and even though i drove the car home on the parkway doing 70mph for a good 35 miles i still believe it is a old car that should be towed or trailered to it's new home. Clean Nj title on hand. i am selling this vehicle as a private sale because it is a car i purchased to keep personally i currently own a few Mk2's that soon i will be parting with them as well. I purchased this car because i never got to own Rabbit Gti and what really caught me was that it is a 1984 and that is the year i was born and also that i have come across maybe a handful of these Gti's and this is by far the most Solid i found for sale and a comfortable price i have also come across some pretty mint original ones as well but the price tag was well in the 5 digits. This vehicle is being sold as is where is there is no warranty at all!I Encourage all serious buyers to inspect the vehicle before bidding or winning it to assure that this is a investment you want to make once the auction ends i require a $300 non refundable deposit and the balance to be paid in cash, certified bank check or postal money orders within 7 days of the auctions ending.please ask all questions prior to bidding do not wait to win the auction to then drown me with 101 questions that should of been asked before owning it. |
