1986 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Wolfsburg Edition

I purchased this vehicle from Pop Top Heaven in 2006 and picked it up in Southern California, where I drove it for two years (though the original owner had it in North Carolina). Prior to me purchasing it, Pop Top Heaven had installed a rebuilt engine and the odometer was at 93,700 miles. In 2008, I drove it cross country, back to Massachusetts, where it has been garaged when not in use. In July of this year, while setting out for a cross country adventure, the van's temperature gauge failed and the van overheated, causing engine damage. I cannot afford to spend the money to have the engine taken apart to assess the extent of the damage, but my mechanic has confirmed that the head gaskets are blown. The van cannot be driven.
While there is very little rust, the paint is not as shiny as it could be. The pop top has one minuscule patch, and there is a spill stain on the rear bench. The fabric on the front seats is a bit threadbare, particularly on the arm rests, but not terrible. The pop top's screen is shredded and will need to be replaced. Table works great. Pop top operates smoothly with no issues with lock. Sliding side door works great. Tires in good shape. Generally, the body and interior of the van are in very, very good condition. This is an awesome van that will, with a new engine, last for many, many more years. It only has 126,000 miles on it!
I have all maintenance records, my bill of sale, etc. Title is clear. I have had no accidents or incidents.
I have very limited resources at this time and simply cannot afford to repair this van, and I am hoping to pass it on to someone who can get it back on the road where it belongs. The notion of it passing the next many years in my garage seems just plain wrong.
