1986 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Hello everyone! This is a 1986 Vanagon Syncro Edition! This is the westfalia weekender package! This specific one is also the Wolfsburg Edition! This van is also equipped with stock rear locking differential! (rare option) 4wd/AWD Syncro Edition!! (very rare)This is an ORIGINAL WESTFALIA (badge in picture)! This car is also the wolfsburg edition! In '85, '86, and '87, a special edition called the Wolfsburg Weekender was offered in both 2WD and 4WD (Syncro). That model has a pop-top and upstairs bed, like all Westy full campers from '80-'91, but no fridge, stove, sink, or cabinet assembly. Instead, the rear seat is full width to accomodate three adults (rather than the shorter seat in full campers that only accomodates two). Behind the driver's seat, the Wolfsburg Weekender has a rear facing seat with storage underneath.
This car has spent most of its life in Alaska and was then bought by a private owner in Arizona. His son had bought him the car from Alaska and had it shipped to Arizona. I then bought the car from Arizona and drove it back to California. The original owner replaced the engine and claimed that he was on his third engine. I believe this is a 4 cylinder Audi engine. The car has decent power and can easily climb hills. I was cruising at 65-70 mph while I drove back and it was a very smooth and comfortable drive.
Once i bought it, i had the car completely repainted back to its original color of white. There is almost no remaining rust and the body is straight and good. The interior is also very clean with minor spots with minor wear and tear. The camper top is in excellent shape as you can see in the pictures. There is some very small rips in the bug section of the top that you can see in the pictures. Keep in mind that it is very minor and almost unnoticeable. The engine runs very good with no overheating. I drove the car back to California from Arizona and the car goes up hills and can keep up with traffic. I was easily cruising at 65-70mph. The transmission shifts smoothly with no grinding of gears, although it takes some getting used to the location of the gears and the gear rations. The clutch also is in functioning condition. The rear locking differential works as it is supposed to and the drive is overall very smooth and comfortable. The van is ready to go.
It does need some minor stuff here and there as you can see in the pictures. Most of it is small minor stuff, such as some handles missing and some plastic trims that can be replaced to make the van even nicer. However, the van is in good running condition with a fresh paint job that gives it a nice look.
The car has a clean Arizona title, but when the previous owner bought it from Alaska, he listed it as not actual mileage because he did not know the exact miles on the engine. Therefore the car has a clean title but with a not actual mileage distinction. However, according to the seller, the 235,XXX is the actual chassis mileage. Either way, the engine has been replaced.
