Description:

1964 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

1964 Split Window Bus with bumble bee paint scheme. The paint color is Peterbuilt yellow with black fuzzy stripes running around it. Nicknamed Bumble Vee.
This bus was purchased in 2000 from someone in the Seattle area and restored from 2000-2007. It has been in storage since 2008 when my husband passed away. Many of the details unfortunately died with him but I will tell you what I know. There is no body putty on this vehicle. At one time we owned 4 additional buses that were used for body parts. The interior has nice wood headliner as well as wood on the side door insides. Ball joint front end installed at Bustoration around 2002. Custom Rancho transmission. Headlight covers were the most recent addition (summer of 2008). New gauges. The front seats were swapped out for other seats, but I believe the original cushioned recovered seats are still in the storage unit too.The motor was swapped out for a Subaru engine (I believe). However I also think the original motor that was in it is still on the floor of the storage unit. There are also many random parts in the storage unit as well as a few in my garage still that you can have your pick of if you win this auction. If you like American Pickers, then this deal is for you.The bus odometer clicked over 100,000 miles when we were cruising around Canada in 2007. Not sure how many miles are on it in total. Current odometer reading is 10786.
This bus was running great when it was put in storage for presumably just the winter in the fall of 2008. It has not been started (nor will I attempt it) since then. Thus I am selling it in non-running condition. It is quite dirty and dusty now. I am posting pics of it from the spring of 2008 (the pics showing the bus in a driveway were from 2008) as well as some taken of it as it sits now.
I am happy to allow interested bidders in to see the vehicle prior to bidding but will not be allowing anyone to attempt to start it. As I mentioned it has not been started, not attempted to be started since it was put in storage in 2008. I'm sure the gaskets and motor need some TLC prior to attempting that. The tires also likely need air.
Cash or cashier's check for the full amount within 14 days of auction close. You are responsible for pickup and transportation of the Bumble Vee.
If you have zero feedback and want to bid, please contact me first or your bid will be cancelled. Serious bidders only please.
