1964 TRIUMPH TR4 Restored Rust Free CA car, Show Quality!

1964 Triumph TR4

Up for auction is a Completely rust fee Triumph TR4 that has spent its entire life in sunny California since leaving the Triumph factory in Coventry England. This can be seen by the black California license plate with the 1964 tag still attached (see photo)This TR4 has been in the same ownership since 1991 and has undergone a meticulous restoration ($22,000 in receipts that come with the car) bringing it back to a very original unmodified condition. The car has covered less than a thousand miles since its completion and is in show level condition.
The body is very straight with no dents or rust and good panel gaps. The paint is very glossy and has been color sanded and polished to a smooth finish that is far better than it left the factory. There are two very small chips, one on the lip of the trunk lid and another on the front edge of the passenger door. Both have been touched up and were less than half an inch long.
The chrome is in very good condition and the bumpers and overriders are excellent. The door handles appear original and are in good condition with minimal scratches. All the body rubber is as new as are the lenses for the exterior lights. The grill is in very good condition with no damage and a nice lustre. The chrome wire wheels and tires are in as new condition.
Overall the exterior is in show quality condition and with a little work could easily put into concours condition.The interior has been restored and is in excellent condition. The dashboard is a mixture of original and restored parts and shows well. The car comes with a smaller diameter wood steering wheel that has never been installed (see photo)
The electrical wiring has been replaced with a new correct wiring loom and everything works.The drivetrain is in excellent condition and the engine runs smooth and strong with great oil pressure and no smoking or knocking. The clutch engages easily and the transmission shifts well with no grinding or whines. The brakes stop the car well in a straight line. Please see my video to see the car in action. This Triumph keeps up with modern traffic with ease.
