Description:

1959 Triumph TR3A

The following bidding is for a classic 1959 Triumph TR3A convertible. This car was purchased new by my father in 1959 and has remained in our family for it's entire existence. It's in very good condition as my father loved this car and did much of the repairs himself. In addition, it's also been garage stored for a majority of it's lifetime. My first car was a 1967 TR4A so TR's have run in our family for awhile! One final note is that it's estimated that there are fewer than 9,500 TR3A's still on the road. This car is truly a classic!
Here's some quick info:
Runs?: You bet! As long as it's not too cold out (personal choice), I take great pride in driving it to work because I love the driving experience almost as much as I love the stares, waves and honks I receive every time I bring it out of the garage! I still has a youthful peppiness and sports car roar.
Mileage: Somewhere between 80,000-100,000+. The odometer broke a number of years ago and the mileage quote is from my mom. The engine was rebuilt by my father over 20 years ago so the engine's quite solid since a majority of the miles were before then.
Added Features: It comes with a top, side curtains (plastic could be replaced but works fine) and a tonneau cover. There's some tears on a few of the fasteners but overall, it's in great condition. A spare tire, tool kit and many manuals my dad collected over the years are also included.
Current Add-ons: Along with an oil change, I recently had it detailed at a very high end shop and it looks gorgeous as you can see in the photos. If you have any other views or photos needed, let me know and I can add them.
Blemishes: As with any older car, there's various chips and/or swirls in the paint job. I also keep an oil pan underneath the car as it will lose a few drops of oil here and there when it sits, but it's very minimal. If it's cold, it usually takes 3-4 tries to get going but then it's fine for the remainder of the day. Finally, after long drives; there's occasional engine run on. Again, I'm trying to recall anything that I can provide to help you in your possibly bidding on this car.
What's not included: As a tribute to my father and our Triumph heritage, I plan to keep the black CA license plates currently on the car.
Questions?: If you're not sure about anything at all, please ask me and I'll do my best to give you accurate answers.
