1991 mr2 2.0 turbo car. 4 cylinder 5 speed. has newer stronger clutch. t tops and seals are good. I bought originally to do a Honda turbo k20 swap and sell this toyota drive train for $1700. as these motors and turbo transmissions have been going up in price. These mr2s have been getting super popular on YouTube to modify and rac, thus getting harder to find and going up in price since Hagerty magazine put them in top 20 cars to invest in. they have gone up 30% in values in past 9 months.
I have now a another car broken down and wife demanding to sell this project dream. or the other and I just cant spend the money now and don't have room to keep long term. I dont know alot about it.them as I was just learning Toyota. I know it is a 2.0 turbo engin, aftermarket clutc, aftermarket manifold, car starts then dies .it could be a sensor or something. I checked tan, cleaned it and replaced pum, filter. that's as far as I got with only Sundays to work on after yard chores.
I thought about selling motor trans for $1700 and rollin shell for $1800 if someone is interested. for someone to build a k24 beast. 700hp in these cars will beat 1200hp gtrs all day. even the stock turbo 2.0 maxed out engine runs 12.6 in quarter mile. these cars are amazing. at this point I'm just gonna try to sell as is if someone wants to try fix it . if it doesn't sell I will consider parting out. clean title ready to get picked up. will need a trailer as it wont stay running. I dont know what's wrong with it as I bought as is from a guy that it sat for a year and it did not matter to me since i was gonna pull engine and go honda SWAP.
