Description:

1951 Studebaker Champion Bullet Nose

My father owned the Studebaker Dealership in San Leandro California many years ago and he saved this car to one day restore it and keep for himself. My father has passed away a few year back and it's time for this Studebaker to find a good home.

I did nothing to it but transfer ownership from the original "small California pink-slip" to my name (same last name as my father). It was stored outside in San Leandro California, I never tried to start it. There is rust here and there, the normal rust areas in the rear wheel wells, floor pans etc.-it will need restoration. -Please look at photos. Random points:

- 4 Factory Suicide Wing Doors

  • The success of the Champion in 1939 was imperative to Studebaker's survival following weak sales during the 1938 model year. Unlike most other cars, the Champion was designed from a "clean sheet", and had no restrictions caused by necessarily utilizing older parts or requiring the subsequent use of its components in heavier vehicles. Market research guided the selection of features, but a key principle adhered to was the engineering watchword "weight is the enemy." For its size, it was one of the lightest cars of its era. Its compact straight-six engine outlasted the model itself and was produced to the end of the 1964 model year, with a change to an OHV design in 1961. -Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker_Champion

-This is NOT a running vehicle. I have never started it. It is being sold not running to be restored fully. Assume it needs everything fixed, repaired, replaced. It is what it is.

My goal is to sell this car with a reasonable end-of-auction-bid. The reserve is set at what I consider a reasonable price. I will not share the reserve price.

Good luck on your bidding.
