1973 Saab Sonett
There always seem to be some rough examples of these lovely cars around but a high mileage, tired or rusty example is not the car to buy. I owned a Sonett 3 when they were new, and when I happened upon this car quietly for sale unadvertised and by word of mouth, I couldn't believe it. It was as nice as my new one from 40 years before! This unique example had been so lovingly cared for that I had to have it. a huge file including the original purchase order, and some amazing details about the first long time owner will be included. The car was about ready for its first clutch at 38,000 miles so the car was entrusted to the well known Sonett expert Bud Clark at J&B Imports in Orange, CA. Several small but important details were attended to along with a full clutch, and more recently a fresh carburetor and full service with all new hoses and belts. Ready to drive and enjoy is this true time machine. No rust has been found anywhere except small corrosion near the brake fluid reservoir which is common and very unimportant. All the floors and belly pan, so critical to these cars, are perfect. The original V4 purrs and has always had zinc additives to its oil changes. The gearbox is as new, and the freewheeling, so often deleted after abuse, works perfectly as do all other features including the great heater and original AM-FM SAAB branded radio. Original upholstery is near perfect, and the car drives exceptionally. Light detailing would have a concours quality car and it has been shown extensively with many awards. Very realistic reserve. Help with shipping anywhere. Long time eBayer see my feedback. Car is from my personal collection which rarely sees a sale but space has become a problem. I will miss this small jewel.
