Thank you for viewing my listing on this meant to be driven and appreciated 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe. With recent
major and minor services completed this car will be ready to enjoy for years to come. This car was sold new in
California and owned there until the early 1980s where it was sold here to Connecticut. The car has always been
garaged/fair weather driven and enjoyed. The factory seats were removed and preserved (they literally look brand new)
and a set of appropriate Recaro seats were installed to provide some additional support, comfort, and safety to the drive.
They can be easily removed and replaced if the next owner so desires.
A major service by Musante Motorsports here in CT was completed in 2020 which included engine seals, crankshaft seal,
and a new clutch kit was installed at that time. Recently this past August 2023 a service included new hood struts, new tires
were mounted and balanced, carburetors were rebuilt and tuned, ignition timing adjusted, brakes bled, a new reverse light switch
was installed, and the oil and filter was changed. This car with a couple pumps starts right up, idles beautiful, and is an absolute
pleasure to drive. The 5spd transmission makes this car very tolerable on the highway with enough mid-range to enjoy back roads.
The mechanical's are in excellent shape on the car, it doesn't actually need anything. The steering is tight and responsive, the brakes work well and pedal feel is good. The clutch functions and operates as it should for a newer clutch. The engine has been rebuilt in the mid 2000's and runs excellent, doesn't smoke, or have any noteable leaks or drips. The engine itself is clean and in good shape. All belts/hoses are in good condition as this car has always been maintained. You will get a binder full of past services and receipts along with the car.
This car while in California saw a fair amount of California sun, the Acrylic Laquer paint mainly around the engine area and rear quarter panels has some geographical cracking, it does not flake or come off as the paint is a single stage. It has been this way since the 1980s, has not gotten worse, and was left almost as a patina. The owner felt it fit the character of the vehicle. The rest of the car the paint is glossy and looks presentable. The body panels on the car are extremely straight and well aligned, there are no noteable dings or dents that I could see. The car is very honest and does not have any door sag or issues with windows or glass. The car still retains all the Sekurit glass. The interior is in good shape, not smoked in, and the carpets and mats are all in great condition. The chrome and brightwork is also in good condition with no unusual defects or issues.
Overall this car is a great value for someone who wants a solid and sound Porsche 912 with some character they plan to actually drive and enjoy. This car has many years left and would be a proud addition to anyones garage. You have fresh oil and tires and they will give piece of mind on that first road trip.
