Description:

1979 Porsche 930

This 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo was imported to the United States from Europe under prior ownership and was acquired by the current owner in 1985.

Refinished in black over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six mated to a four-speed manual transaxle.

Features include 16″ Fuchs-style wheels, a front spoiler, fog lights, a sunroof, a tea-tray spoiler, an aftermarket stainless-steel exhaust system, a Nardi steering wheel, and a Kenwood CD stereo and speakers.

This 930 Turbo is now offered, on behalf of the owner, with manufacturer’s literature, a car cover, leftover paint, and a New Hampshire title.

The car was refinished in it's factory color Black Metallic (708) in 2020. Equipment includes fog lamps, a front spoiler, a sunroof, dual sideview mirrors, side air intakes, boxed rocker-panel moldings, a “tea-tray” rear spoiler, rear bumperettes, quad exhaust outlets, and a rear window wiper. The headlight washers are inoperable.

Gold-finished 16″ Fuchs-style wheels with bright lips are mounted with Continental ContiExtremeContact tires measuring 205/55 up front and 225/50 at the rear. Braking is provided by Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at each corner. There is a gouge on the inside edge of the right-front wheel.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Equipment includes 930-branded floor mats, power windows, and a Kenwood CD stereo and speakers. The power windows can operate slowly and the passenger-side interior door handle sometimes malfunctions. Wear is visible on the seats.

The three-spoke Nardi steering wheel features an Emerson Fittipaldi Personal logo and frames a centrally mounted tachometer with a 6,700-rpm redline, a 300-km/h speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 76k kilometers (~48k miles), approximately 5k miles of which are said to have been added under current ownership.

The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six is equipped with an aluminum intercooler and was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 304 lb-ft of torque. A timing-chain-tensioner update kit has been installed, and an oil leak was repaired under current ownership.

Manufacturer’s literature, a car cover, and leftover PPG paint are included in the sale.

Clean New Hampshire title ready for transfer and ready to ship anywhere in the world.

This is the first of a small collection of sought after Porsches to be sold. I have done and will do my best to describe the car as accurately as possible. All photos are undeited and taken on an iphone 12. The car has been owned and stored at the same garage for the last 38 years. Heated and covered.

This is an excellent example of Porsche’s iconic 930 Turbo. Own a rare piece of automobile history.
