1965 Porsche 912

Vehicle Details

VIN: 451 609 may be the most solid 912 project available this year. There is minimal rust on the body, as far as old Porsches go: the floor under the pedal assembly (see photo), the rear section of the passenger floor which was cut out, and a few small holes in tray under rear window. The car includes a steering wheel and all the parts that are bolted on in the photos as well as the misc items sitting on the rear seat area in addition to a 912 engine (details below). The car has had the front fuel shelf replaced. A fuel tank is present, but no spare wheel. What is thought to be the original transmission turns and has oil in it. The story that I got with the car was a connecting rod went through the case and the long block was discarded. Is that the official mileage in the car or has it flipped once? I cannot tell you. Included with the sale of this 912 is a 912 engine that seems complete (could be missing a piece of hardware or something). Included are the fan housing and associated parts (see photos) crankshaft, camshaft, rods, push rods, cylinder heads, pistons, cylinders, oil pump, distributor, and engine tin. The car is titled as a 1965 912. The engine is from a 1968 912. I do not have the key to the car doors or ignition, but a code is on each door handle which will enable a Porsche locksmith to cut keys to the code. Doors most likely match the ignition. Car comes with a clear title. I suggest covered transport in a container or box trailer or for the buyer to take off any "loose" parts, box them up and load the the remained up a ramp, rollback, or trailer. The rear glass and windscreen are just resting in place.Questions and requests for additional photos BEFOFE bidding, please. I am a respected member of the 356/911/912 community and will answer all questions as completely as possible. The tires on original Porsche rims are older but hold air. Three hubcaps are present. To be clear, you are buying the white car, not the red car that is seen in the background or off to the side.
