1981 Porsche 928. Auto transmission. Runs & drives great. This is my personal car. I'm only selling because I got an '84 928S 5 speed. Most of the photos were taken 8 March 2019. I drove the car over 100 miles today with no issues. I haven't driven the car in a while since I wanted to keep the miles low, but its fun to drive.
Extensive work has been done to this engine in the recent past. You can just about eat off of it. Last year, it underwent a thorough fuel system refurbishment -- new fuel pump, filter, cleaned out tank, new rubber lines, and bench cleaned injectors. The odometer shows 61,950, but the trip odometer only works sometimes. Speedometer works fine. Even the clock works!
The car used to be silver, but a previous owner painted it black at some point. The paint shows well about 10' away, but some fading when examined up close. A quick hand wax made a huge difference, maybe a professional can really spruce it up? The body side moulding is pretty rough, with lots of paint cracking, I recommend removing or replacing it. Upgraded staggered 928S rims with excellent matching Toyo tires.I was told by the previous owner that the transmission had been removed & overhauled, but I don't have any proof of that. It does shift very smoothly. This is a very powerful car.
The front power seats work fine, but are torn. I have premium black sheepskin covers on them which will be included. The sunroof doesn't retract. The dash is cracked & has a carpet pad over it. Power windows work fine. The windshield is cracked & I was at Safelite to have it replaced when they discovered the new replacement windshield from the warehouse was cracked. I never went back, but it was to be $230 installed. AC doesn't work, but the blower motor works fine, as does the heat. There's no AM/FM radio antenna. It was missing when I got it, but the stereo seems to pick up stations fine without it.

I was asked if the spare tire & jack were present. Yes, they are & they will be included. The panel that goes over the spare & between the hatch carpet is not original, it has been fabricated from thin plywood. It's actually very nice & custom cut to fit. Originally that panel is of a plastic material & prone to breaking. It was brought to my attention that this may not have been a "southern" car, as it spent some time in the high country of Colorado. I had no knowledge where this Porsche has been during its past 38 years, as I don't have a car report. I was relying on information provided to me from the previous Georgia owner. The fact remains this is a rust-free car & has every appearance of being very well maintained.
The rear window wiper does not appear to work. I have no idea why not, nor have I investigated, as I don't drive this Porsche in the rain. I do know that the primary wipers work exactly as they should in all speeds & even intermittent mode.
The battery is the large one designed for this vehicle & was purchased in the spring of 2018. There is no drain on the battery from the car & it started without issue after being parked for several weeks.
