1989 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR back dated 1973
1989 Porsche 911
Imported the car from the USA about 6 years ago and I did not do the conversion to RSR specs. It is a stock 3.2 with a G50 transmission. The body work is all steel and according to the builder the front flares were reshaped to RSR profile. It retains the power mirrors, seats (factory leather), PW, PB and power sunroof. When I purchased the car it was a fresh conversion and here is the basic description I got then: Fresh clutch, weltmeister chip, transmission resealed, RS style carpets and door cards, fiberglass hood, ducktail and bumpers, AC removed, new windshield and no rust ever. I have had to repaint the rear 930 flairs due to rock chips and at that time bought a new stripe kit and had the wheels professionally painted to match. The engine was apart 4 years ago and about 10k in work done by a Porsche race fanatic and whatever needed to be replaced was. The car came with a BB exhaust which I changed to a stock one. I installed Fuch factory wheels purchased from a fellow changing out the wheels on his 911 Turbo to something else, I had them media blasted and sealed to simulate the RSR style. I sourced a period Cancun stereo The sunroof mechanism was redone last year. The shocks have been replaced and purchased from Auto Atlanta. I put ina prototipo wheel and the H4 light conversion. Rear tires (245/45/16)replaced 2 years ago, front 5 years ago. I have not put on many miles as I have a few cars and alternate driving them. There isa clean car fax for whatever they are worth. I have owned several 911's over the years as well as other makes so I have a reasonable knowledge of good and bad cars. This is a good one but in the end it is a modified hot rod 911 so keep that in mind. I would have to describe the car as a great driver, looks fantastic, sits right, has great mechanicals but is not perfect. At this point it needs a few things: sunroof seal bead, one power window switch will not stay in the panel (clasp is broken), I don't have the door keys which has not been a problem since it is garaged and never left anywhere, small scratch on the front fender just behind the headlight (about 2 inches) where I caught it on my garage door, few paint chips in the front and I am sure other things I am forgetting that one can ask if you are interested in the car. It has never let me down, starts immediately every time and does not burn anymore than 1/4 to half liter of oil between changes which I believe is normal. I don't have to sell, love the car, happy to keep if I need to but I am now retired and want something a little more reserved. I had the car for sale in the late spring, it was bided well and I got several other offers on the car but had to pull the listing due to a family emergency which took several months to handle. I have tried to describe this the best I can but if there is something you want to know, have someone local look at the car etc. let me know.
There was a problem with Ebay getting this listed so the detail above may be incomplete. The car is black/black interior which was the original color of the car. I will confirm the mileage on the odometer tomorrow.
On Nov-05-17 at 16:56:46 PST, seller added the following information:
The rear seats are not in the car and I no longer have them, the RS carpet set runs throughout the car and there are front and rear coco mats. The center pivot for the seats is still intact.
