Here is a Porsche in great condition for its age. This car has lived between Southern California and Arizona and its body shows! No rust whatsoever. This car has not been restored, but it is a survivor that runs strong with all features in good working order. This 944 runs and drives great and the body is straight and appears to be all original. This is a great opportunity for those who are looking for a clean older Porsche, can be used as a daily driver or easily brought back to new condition and preserved for a later time.
The exterior of this Porsche is finished gloss black paint that looks pretty good all around and still has plenty of shine left. The body is very straight with only very minor imperfections with the largest being a small ding next to drivers side headlight. All panels and glass seem to be original and in good condition. The original alloy wheels are in decent condition finishedin black and brushed chrome. The "44" from 944 is missing.
The interior is clean and original as well. The Arizonasun has cracked the dashboard and dried up some of the plastics inside such as the shift handle trim that is lifting from its base from the leather and plastic drying up. All interior features including power locks and windows, both side power mirrors, targa top lifters, radio, heat, blower fan and all gauges. This car is equipped with factory AC but it is not working. The seats are from a later model Porsche and are power seats, however they have been installed to work manually. The original interior was all black, I am not a fan of the tan seats, but they are finishednicely in leather. The original seats will be included in the sale but the fabric is in poor condition and will need to be redone.
The engine is all original and does not appear to have any major leaks or issues. It starts right up on the first crank every time. All gears are smooth and it shifts through each one exactly as it should. Oil change and general inspection will be completed before delivery.
Carfax shows mileage inconsistency and it appears that it was a clerical error in the way it was reported after it turned 100,000 miles. I have no reason to believe the mileage is not accurate at just over 117K miles. I recently picked this car up from a local estate auction in a package andwill sell in this auction as described.
