SE Bandit Replica with 1977 Trans Am Nose, Tail & Hood
1975 Pontiac Firebird
Restored over several years while watching a little too much Smokey & The Bandit.
A southern red TA brought north in the 90's by a collector. Factory 6.6l V8 has plenty of power. The power brakes are firm and the transmission shifts great. Power steering works well and the newer dual exhaust sounds fantastic. Tons of fun to drive!
The interior is a mix of original and restored. The seat upholstery, carpet, rear package tray, visors and headliner have been replaced. The glass is still in good shape. The doors don't sag and the door & window seals are all new. The original radio has been disconnected and a bluetooth unit has been installed in the glove compartment along with new speakers.
1977 hood, front and rear bumpers have been installed. Under the car is clean. Tires are older but still have enough tread to get east bound & down. Smog pump is still there but disconnected. Lots of other little things have been replaced.
While it gets tons of attention on the road, this car isn't perfect. The paint could use buffing. The factory A/C is all there but untested. The transmission has a slow leak, seems to be dripping from the speedo cable area. The fuel gauge doesn't work.
