1967 Pontiac GTO

1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible with 400 cu in.V8 engine and TH400 automatic transmission with bucket seats, console and his/her shifter. The car runs and drives and is complete and ready for restoration. It has rally wheels and the odometer shows 32,884 mileage but I believe it has turned over once as per the receipts that I will pass on to the new owner. So, it would be 132,884. The engine has less than 100 miles on it. I had a shop rebuild it a few years ago and it has set in my shop ever since. A machine shop messed up one of the heads. So, I bought another set close to the same date and replaced one. The new owner will get both sets. The engine compartment has a new original engine wiring harness installed along with new new components, such as the voltage regulator, horn relay, plugs, plug wires, hoses, thermostat, alternator, starter, battery, cables, valve covers, belts and new fan shrowd, etc. It has the original Harrison radiator repaired as well. The transmission has a new filter, o-ring and pan gasket but not rebuilt. The exhaust has been replaced recently from the manifold all the way to the tail pipes. The engine runs good, I did not rebuild the carburetor and it has small exhaust leak near the manifold. I was just getting the car together enough to drive to repair shops etc. but not trying to restore the car except making it dependable. The front end has had the suspension worked on, ball joints, and other front end components, shocks front and back etc. Its been awhile, but I think I had the brakes done as well before I parked it. The gas tank straps are new but one strap does is wired through the truck on the drivers side because that connection was rusted. I have not replaced the tires, the tread looks good but they are the same as when I bought it in 2015 so not sure condition. The car has set in my shop since purchased in NC.

The interior looks to be the original with the exception of the radio was replaced. I have the original radio and reverb with switch that will go to the new owner. The floor pans are all good. The trunk and taillight area will need to be replaced or repaired. There is rust along the trunk drip rail and the floor of the trunk is thin in spots and has rusted through in one area. The other main rust repair would be the bottom of the windshield area. The other body spots are shown in the photos and not as bad. The convertible top worked until recently when I put the top up and the passenger side cylinder or hose leaked. I have not fixed it. The convertible top itself does need to be replaced.

I believe the car is all original. I do not have the PHS documents but the old photos and registration documentation show the personal tag was called "Genuine". This is a nice GTO and a great color combination. It just needs to be taken to the next level and it will be very nice and worth a lot of money. I always intended to restore it but had too many other project cars along the way. Time to find a new home. There is no reserve! Good luck bidding! The car is sold as and no refunds, cash, wire transfer or bank check accepted. I reserve the right to end the auction at early as I will mention the car is for sale to my muscle car friends after I list it.
