PHS Build Sheet, 1 of 1231 automatics and even fewer cars with A/C
1971 Pontiac Trans Am PHS Documented
1971 Trans Am,California Rust Free Project Car, owned 20 Years
California car, PHS documented as delivered new toUniversity Pontiac in North Hollywood, California in September, 1970. More rust free than most people, outside thesun belt can even imagine. Doors closewith one finger. Originally White withBlue Stripe and Black interior. Odometer shows 30,000 (could be original, probably isn’t, and very sad if it is).Note the original sound deadener on the floor pan and still in great andreuseable shape.
455 YE Block rebuilt 2+ decades ago, (painted the wrongshade of blue) and not driven since. I do not think this is the original motor as Ican’t make the numbers line up to anything, but the YE block is correct for a1971 Trans Am so it could have been a warranty replacement or, more likely, justa replacement. Has the correct, original, two piece intake with350 heads for high compression. Original, correct, Shaker scoop with flapper door and brackets for solenoid.
PS, PB, Auto, Air. 1 of1231 automatic cars and even fewer cars with A/C.
All original sheet metal and dated core support with onesmall rust through on LR quarter. Remnants of original white paint on allsurfaces. Remnant of original blue decalunder rear spoiler. The super-solidcondition of this Trans-Am’s body will save THOUSANDS during restoration andresult in a superior car.
Car is not in primer, but has a nasty coat of faded redpaint applied decades ago over the original white. Yes, there is some body filler beneath thatugly paint, but not because of any rust repair. There is some surface rust where the paint has chipped off. The car is overall very straight and itssolidness is rarely matched. Even the originalbattery tray is solid! Yes, the trunkhas leaked, but it is solid and original. Ire-sprayed the trunk floor to preserve the condition.
Car was running and driven into my de-humidified garage 20years ago and not started since. Thetransmission leaks. I begandis-assembly 20 years ago, but progress quickly stalled out. Thankfully, I only got the hood and coresupport removed. All factory hardwareis bagged and labeled. Photos may showsome hardware store bolts used to put this thing back together for display forsale and easier transport. The engineturns freely. This car has not seen anyweather or sun for over 20 years.
Most of the trim and interior are removed, but included (see detailed list and photos). Seats have been re-installed for shipping. This is a very complete car with the hard to find ('71 only) trim pieces accounted for.

This car currently should be considered a non-running carsince it hasn’t been started in over 20 years.I will coordinate with a transporter to get it loaded up, but its veryimportant for you to let potential shippers know that is non-running. Also, the loose parts will need specialconsideration during the shipping process for security. Better yet, bring your own trailer! I’d love to actually meet the new owner.
