1965 Pontiac Le Mans
First of all, I want to be up front and not give any suprises Today, I swapped the tires shown in the pictures which are 245-60-15 withstock size Michelin 205-65-15. I swapped the tires only-Not the wheels which are American racing torque thrust 15x8 inas new condition. The 245-60's were too big in the front and scrapped on corners. The Michelins are the correct size for the car and have aprox. 60-70% tread. ---second, this is not a numbers matching drive train.--------------I bought this car many years ago as a very solid-straight and rust free car worthy of a restoration. Ithas been stored indoors for 20 years. Originally a 326 automatic. I've restored 3 other cars since I bought this one and started onthis 2 1/2 years ago.------The motor is a 1973 400block-with 1977 6x-4-- 93 cc heads. 8.6 cr. --Forged speed pro L 2262-.30 over pistons--edelbrock cam and lifters-edl 2157--Cloyes roller timing set--Milodon rod bolts---fully balanced and magged 1967 armasteel crank and rods-.10-10 journals held to .002 oil clearance.-Motor runs 65lbs cold- 45lbs hot.------Best gasket (brand) rear crank seal--No leaks---6x-4 heads have arp 7 1/6 screw in rocker studs-Comp cams magnum roller tip rockers 1.65 ratio--poly lock rocker nuts- comp cam valve springs, retainers and keepers. 3 angle v grind. holley mechanicalfuel pump---Carter afb 750 cfm electric choke, new---Mallory electronic distributer and HV coil--- edelbrock performer intake.---Full Pypes streetstainless steel 2 1/2" X pipe crossover exhaust, best sounding exhaust Iv'e ever heardbut not too loud -x pipe so nobooming.or droning.----Fresh turbo 350 with 12" converter and mild shift kit.---10 bolt Non posi differential with 2.93 gears, new carrier and bearings---new aluminum radiator-water pump-trans cooler.---I replace everything even slightly marginal.-I built this for reliability and useable street performance, not drag racing.---The body was straight and rust free-fairly well cared for when I started--even the underdash and wiring very nice ----completely stripped to bare metal- disassembled, treated with acid--cleaned and shot with epoxy primer, then urethane primer surfacer--and blocked.--extremely little filler--single stage 2k urethane candy apple red. I used por 15 in certain hidden areas internally to prevent any future rust--overkill.-----All gaps are good and fit well.--All panels are original to the car. I replaced both rear floor footwells with amd sections and patched 5 small holes, then sealed everything with por 15. The trunk is solid and beautiful. The quarter panels are beautiful, dent free and rust free, as are the rest of the panels. There is very little filler anywhere and none thick. only for blocking, not for filling dents or wreck damage.---Again No bad suprises. --------The frame is completely damage free. New gas tank and sending unit. New brake booster and master cyl.---original drum brakes with new parts as needed.---at some point earlier the suspention was rebuilt and is very tight.-----All new weather stripping, seals and rubber parts inside and out.----New tinted windshield,---all glass channels were perfect,-----Interior--New headliner-all new door panels, front and rea, ---carpet kit--package tray--rear seat upholstry and foam--front buckets are original-Not reupholstered, as per pictures and have sun damage on the outer tops, and pitted chrome on the side moldings, but they are otherwise in solid driver condion----sent original radio and speakerout to be repaired and re-coned,---Everything works wellmechanically and electrically.---------The fr. and rear bumpers are original, not re pops and are still in very nice driver cond.--- No missing trim, moldings or emblems. all in very nice cond.---- hood spear needs rechrome, or just left off like I did. steering wheel needs horn button kit to work-------I've left out some, but I know this is getting long. Just trying to dislcose everything I can. I believe I have realistic expectations as to what I want for the car, but do not need to give away either. When it gets close to the reserve I'll consider a buy it now price if that helps.-----In closing- the car runs exceptionally crisp and strong--drives great---does not leak a drop of anything--has been built very slowly with care.-sounds better than any car I've had--has power steering and brakes---has very good gaps and fitment and crisp undamaged body lines. ----nice paint not done for a quicky resale but as my keeper, but plans have a way of changing, and I have too many cars.----It is not currently licenced and have only driven it 90 miles or so with a trip permit. I'm reasonably shure most things are sorted, but it is over 50 so------It has a clean and clear title, and a large pile of receipts for most of what I did.----I will be available for your transport company if you have it shipped which is usually pretty reasonable. ------Please only bid if you actually want to buy the car. -If after reading this you have any further questions, and are seriously considering buying, please call--Not text 360-353-5645 between 10 am-9 pm eastern time. I 'm not always by the phone so please leave your name, number and a good call back time. Thanks.Vehicle Details:
