1964 Plymouth Fury

We are proud to offer this beautifully restored 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible with a 488 Hemi. This build is truly a streeable, high performance, high horsepower Hemi car that drives like new. This car also comes with some original books and documentation, as well as a complete set of pre-restoration photos and paperwork. The History and Restoration Process: Purchased with only 43,000 original miles in Los Angeles in 2013, this Sport Fury was a west coast, rust free car from the start. Built by Jim Ballenger of Ballenger Power, this vehicle underwent a full restoration, having been stripped down to bare metal on all the upper surfaces and steam cleaned on all other surfaces before applying epoxy primer. This car has had frame connectors welded into the sub frames, not bolt on parts. For more details on the motor, see section below. The entire restoration took place on a rotisserie and painted top and bottom with the correct color PPG paint and clear coated. The floor, door panels and trunk floor were covered with Dyna Mat for sound and heat deadening. The interior is Legendary and has all new foam in the seats. The heater assembly was completely rebuilt but the car does have a small leak, and currently the water valve is plugged off in the necks on the water pump. The roof mechanism is original with new hydraulics and works well. The suspension is a complete kit from Firm Feel and consisted of a rebuilt power steer box built to police specs, new torsion bars, new leaf springs, new front and rear sway bars, new upper control arms, reinforced lower control arms, 4 Bilsteen shock absorbers, and all new bushings and ball joints. The Vehicle Today: Since the completion of this restoration, this car has driven less than 3,000 miles. Mechanically it is in great condition, and comes complete with the ECU computer for diagnosing and tuning the performance of the car. Our mechanics at Classic Promenade gave this car a clean bill of health. The engine pulls strong, shifts are firm but confident, and it sounds amazing. On the exterior, the Medium Blue Paint (12656) has depth and shines beautifully. The overall paint condition is very good. There are some minor etchings in the chrome and trim pieces, but they require a very sharp eye to spot. The underside of the car (see photos) is in equally nice condition, with very minimal signs of use and no rust. The convertible top is in great condition too, with no rips, tears, or discoloration. It opens and closes smoothly. The interior is very nice, with new materials throughout. We did notice some scuff marks on the door sills, some exposed cushion material in the seats, and some wear on various touch points (dash switches, etc). However, this interior by and large is extremely presentable and well put together. Overall this Sport Fury is a very cool, very powerful street car that can hold its own at the drag strip. We love the blue on blue, and the 4 speed manual make this the drivers choice for someone looking to enjoy the vehicle and who wishes to show it. This vehicle can be viewed at our Phoenix Showroom.
