1977 Plymouth PB200 Voyager Van No, not Dodge
1977 Plymouth Voyager
1977 Plymouth PB200 Voyager Van
On offer today is a fairly rare 1977 Plymouth PB200 ¾ ton Voyager window van. 318 2bbl., 727 auto, single exhaust. The Chrysler Corporation produced 1 Plymouth van for about every 30 Dodge vans or about 3000 per year from 1974-1984. That makes this the perfect "classic" car project. Why? Rare, yet great parts availability and can be repaired in about any repair shop on the planet. This is a project that I have lost interest in/abandoned. My loss is your gain. Here are the details:
I am the second owner and the <25,000 mileage on the odo is believed to be correct according to the previous owner's son who sold it to me from his Dad's estate. Oil change stickers confirm. The van was ordered new by his Dad and used almost exclusively for family camping. His Dad was working on restoring the body when he passed away and I haven't done anything to it since purchase. Although the van was Ziebarted (pro rustproofing) when new, there is some rust damage but the floors and roof are solid. I had focused on getting it in good running order before addressing the cosmetics and drove it quite a bit before I drove it into storage about 4 years ago.
I have receipts for work on the van in the amount of $2500+ within the past 2000 miles and includes:
5 New Motorcraft whitewall tires
Alternator
Battery (never hooked up-7 months old kept on a tender) pics show old one
Complete custom exhaust: manifold to bumper
4 Monroe HD shocks (expensive)
Complete brake system including lines and wheel cylinders
New radiator and hoses
Rebuilt windshield wipers
The right tie rod end that was bad from the factory on nearly every one of these vans that gave them "Ouija" steering—you moved the steering to where you thought it should be and waited for a message from beyond—was replaced with the correct HD part.
Trans service/flush with pan gasket
Laser aligned front end
Replaced every conceivable "maintenance after long storage" item including plugs, wires, cap/rotor, fluids, all filters, all hoses, all belts, valve cover gaskets, oil change, thermostat, etc.
Included in the sale is a box of OEM spare parts and a couple carbs as well as new in package door gaskets, a couple extra wheels (snowtires—the van is from Michigan), factory service manual, dealer's brochures, a factory parts catalog and a Chilton's Manual.
Not presently running/driving. The van needs the fuel system flushed. Van is equipped with the extremely rare 36 gallon poly gas tank. The brakes need pressure adjusted so the pedal returns correctly. The trans needs adjusted. When it is running, it doesn't leak, smoke or make funny noises. Because of the suspension/tire upgrades, it drives very nice.
The "uniquely" patterned carpet is laid over the original rubber mat that seems to be like new. The walls have been insulated with thermo board. The original upholstery is nearly perfect with a small repaired split in the front passenger seat. Dusty from storage but no bad smells.
No warranty expressed or implied but I have no reason to deceive the buyer about the condition. Too many projects. Would make the perfect winter project, needs more time than money and a new owner. Exceptional father/son project. Priced to sell. No reserve. Last bid wins it.
Clean, clear Texas title in my name. Look at the pictures closely. More and high res pictures available. Happy to answer questions. $300 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours. Must be paid for within 7 days. Due to the time of year, the van can be left in covered, locked storage for up to 30 days free of charge. After 30 days, the storage fee will be $10 per day. Van will not be released for shipping until fully paid for including any possible extra storage fees. Shipping is entirely the responsibility of the buyer but will help all I can to get it loaded. Bid high and bid often. Hell, bid drunk and only once, I'm not judgmental, but if you can't complete the transaction within the scope of eBay's policies, please don't bid at all. Thanks for reading this far.
