1968 Plymouth Fury 3 , two door hardtop, factory AC original CA black plates
1968 Plymouth Fury
Great project here, 1968 Fury 3, two door hardtop, factory AC, purchased from original family owners. Mileage may not be correct, may be 167k but I'm only assuming, I can't honestly remember what the grandson said but I think he wasn't really sure. Car is decently straight and solid, I have the engine block and transmission that are supposed to be original, (the enginewas apart when I got it and is now incomplete (was running per the previous owner but smoking bad), and I also have acomplete 318 and transmission fully assembled still bolted togetherfrom a 1969 4 door Satellite that is thought to be a running engine. That car had just over 70 k on the odometer and the mileage looked correct for the condition of the car. So to clarify, the auction includes the car, theengine (apart and incomplete)and transmission (supposedly ok)that came with the car as well as the engine and transmission from the 69 satellite, greasy, believedto be operable but not yet verified.I just performed a compression test on the engine and it was 150 145 150 150 on cyls 2 4 6 7 and 150 160 150 135 on cyls 1 3 5 7.
The original color of this caris paint code JJ1 which I believe is med gold metallicas you can see from the trunk photo. The door metal looks moreof a yellow in the photos than thegold metallic however, that's just the photo lighting. Its avinyl roof car, the glass is great shape including the windshield which is tinted and all glass is tinted as per the fender tag infoand has the Chrysler Astro ventilation tag or sticker on it.I have all the door and side interior panels. Which are fair condition.
After researching the fender tag, the car was ordered by the owner(u1 option), it is a 318 2bbl, 3 speed auto, 2.76 axle ratio, med gold metallicwith a white vinyl roof, Ps, pb, ac, fender marker lights, body moldings(side trim), wheel lip moldings, am radio, rear seat speaker, an unknown option (j2) and finally, there's a stamped w1 and y7 option that I'm assuming was later added by the dealer??? I think all of the exterior trim is still with the car.
This will make a great and inexpensive project and you will find the fury has very nice and aggressivebody lines, quite similar to a GTX, (take a look at some online). The 68 had the new dash layout as well which is stunning. Finally, take note the dash is not butchered up and it still has the original radio and I think all of the dials andknobs. this car will be a looker with the original paint and interior and the factory air is a big plus.Car is currently a non op status. I have too many other projects which is why this one has to go.....
