Comments:

Don Johnson personally owned this, 1970 Hemi Clone Cuda Convertible! A historical piece of vintage memorabilia is a huge asset to any collectors inventory. This was one of 64 built for sale in Canada with the 340 and Automatic. During filming of the Nash Bridges show they blew the motor, then fitted it with a 440; out of the four cars this was the only one which was outfitted with the 440 and has not been changed since the show. The other three were small blocks.

The car was found and then purchased by Don Johnson out of Calgary, Alberta Canada and converted to a 1971 Cuda with a 4-Speed Manual transmission. This was the 3rd car to be converted for the popular TV show. For filming quality the car was painted"Lemon Twist Yellow". However, after shooting the pilot for the show, producers were concerned that the yellow may not show up on the screen properly. After looking at several yellow paint options, the final color chosen was "Caterpillar Fleet Yellow". The paint has not been altered from the final filming selection. Once the show left the air, Don Johnson purchased the car for his own personal use until he sold the car at Barrett-Jackson in 2003. Don Johnson and Cheech Marin attended the sale, taking the time to interact with the crowd. To this day (untouched), Don Johnson left a memento in the ashtray, his cigar nub. The car was purchased from the Brett Torino Collection (Las Vegas Prestigious Auto Collector) where that car had been on display. The buyer will receive 2 binders with the car history, detailed reports, media acknowledgement, verification and authenticity documentation including Don Johnsons California Title of Ownership. This car has been kept and maintained in a temperature controlled environment. Car is being sold local.I Have the right to end the auction early.
