1958 Deluxe VW Bus

1958 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

1958 Palm Green/Sand Green VW Bus. True milage unknown. Brand new battery, recent tune up (plugs, wires, cap and rotor), oil change, and valve adjustment. All lights work. US spec originally delivered to Okinawa, Japan. Pictured is a “birth certificate” from VW showing original configuration based on chassis plate. This bus predates M Code plates. Gas tank has recently been professionally cleaned/fixed.I am attaching three invoices describing other work recently done to get the bus on the road. Please note I paid for parts separately. Engine is a 71. It has some interesting history and there are videos available from when it was brought back to life by a previous mechanic/owner and used for many trips (link below). It has very cool original Safari windows. Plate states “deluxe” model although I don’t see holes for deluxe trim (could’ve been filled). Brakes and wheel bearings recently done. Has some unprofessional patches that can be seen in the walk around video. Frame is solid, non-structural outriggers less so. The paint is faded and surface rust can be seen throughout the walk around video. Floor also has some patches (pictured). I have the passenger door handle but removed it to get it working properly. Good front bench seat, rear is empty/blank canvas. Air filter is not installed but included. I bought this as a non-running project, and as can be seen in the videos, the bus nowruns, drives and stops. Ihave over $20k into it. Unfortunately, I do not have as much time for the project as I thought I would. Currently has an open registration (I purchased and never registered) and is sold via bill of sale (CT is a non-title state for vehicles over 25 years old). I need the space, so not interested in any trades. Vehicle is sold as is; it is over 60 years old, and should still be considered a project prior to daily use.
